I am sickened and heartbroken by the bi-partisanship nature of this "trial." I honestly cannot fathom a more egregious display of groupthink. Senators are smart people yet they insist on nonsensical arguments to blatant facts. I have been a Republican all of my life, but I typically vote for the best candidate. Donald Trump is not the best candidate, not by a long shot. Can the Senate Republicans not see that if they band together, there will be power in numbers (avoiding retaliation from this monster) and they can get a reasonable, competitive candidate for the 2020 race? Removing him from office avoids subjecting our country to four more years of domestic terror coming via Twitter rants from the President. It would also spare us our dignity. America is currently the laughing stock of the world due to President Trump. America is certainly NOT great now more than ever. He should have been out when he lied the first 100 times. This has gone on FAR too long! I'm changing my voting registry to independent. #trump2020 #makeamericaembarassed #notconvictedevenwhencaught
