What's the story?

\nPresident Donald Trump's legal team continues defending the president against two articles of impeachment amidst claims by former National Security Adviser John Bolton that Trump tied Ukraine aid to investigations.\n
During the defense's opening remarks on Saturday, White House counsel Pat Cipollone said Democrats have not \"come anywhere close to meeting their burden for what they're asking you to do.\"
\"In fact, we believe that when you hear the facts, and that's what we intend to cover today - the facts - you will find that the president did absolutely nothing wrong.\"
Cipollone added: “For all their talk about election interference … they’re here to perpetrate the most massive interference in an election in American history,” he said.

What are the rules for the trial?

Evidence collected by the House won't be automatically admitted for the trial—senators will vote, later, on which materials to admit.
House impeachment managers (the prosecutors) and Trump’s defense team have 24 hours, split over three days, for opening arguments. The House completed their opening statements last Friday.
The question of witnesses will be addressed after opening arguments.

An honorable person has values that persist even when it is not convenient or expedient. An honorable person has a moral compass that stops them from doing something wrong even if it is not illegal.
