While I do not expect McConnell to care one whit about public opinion concerning his clearly stated (and in my mind oath violating) position with respect to the Senate trial of Trump on his Impeachment (Yes, he really was Impeached!), I do feel it is WRONG and (potentially) 'treasonous' (in terms of aiding and abetting a clear enemy of the people and the United States of America) that he would coordinate with Trump, his attorneys, and his cronies. Doing so violates not only his oath to protect and defend the Constitution but also, and very clearly, violates the oath Senators take as trial judges during an impeachment. But, again, I doubt McConnell cares about that.
