This is American History and cannot be changed. It is, also, r artwork that is protected by our constitution. This statue was dedicated to a man who helped our country through a tumultuous time, just the same as Martin Luther King in another era. If people are offended by it over 150 years later, you have to ask what is their motives...maybe, they need to pull their "big boy & girl pants" up and get along with their lives to promote goodwill instead of causing unnecessary disruption and angst.
