To continue.....my father moved in with me and he does all my outside work and helps with inside work as I am unable to do this because if my disability. We pool our resources or neither of us would be able to afford a home, medicine, or groceries if we had to go it alone. I wish that all of the Congress and Senate had to live ONE day like we, who are on Social Security, do. As it is, if dad and I get to go out to dinner one time a month, we think we've died and gone to Heaven. We can't go...

My father worked in the coal mines all his life; back before their retirement benefits became better. He lives on Social Security. I worked all my life and paid in; I was injured on my job as an RN and after 4 back surgeries, I am unable to work. Because of the ensuing battle with Workman's Comp, I was without any income for about 2 years, so I used all my retirement income to pay my mortgage and other bills

This is important! Also, my mother has severe dementia. We need to take after other cultures and care for our elders.

Social Security is NOT an entitlement. It IS an earned benefit. Senior citizens worked for years to earn that modest benefit. Banks and large corporations, on the other hand, did nothing to earn the bailout money - our tax dollars - the government lavished on them. (Btw, I'm a struggling senior citizen and I paid a higher tax rate than Mitt Romney.) Now, the government and their corporate masters expect us to do without so we can pay for their follies and greed. With food and fuel costs on...

(Btw, I'm a struggling senior citizen and I paid a higher tax rate than Mitt Romney.) Now, the government and their corporate masters expect us to do without so we can pay for their follies and greed. With food and fuel costs on the rise and with corporations realizing record profits, the U.S. government has a duty to its senior citizens to provide a decent cost-of-living increase. Stop doling out our dollars to large banks and corporations! Start taking care of our citizens! Invest in human beings and infrastructure, not in greedy, profligate corporations! And bring our war dollars home!

Many Seniors only live on social security and that is never enough! I do senior care and many run out of money! They have had no increase in social security in the last 3 years! YES, they need money too! I will 100% support President Obama with caring about our elders!

Most worked and paid into it their working lives. They don't deserve to live in poverty...but that's just my opinion.
