Why is this important to me? Simple-because if we can't see that seniors today are us and our children tomorrow then we all need a lesson in civility and human decency. Seniors have fought for us in wars, taught us in school, cared for us when we were sick and only ask to live a comfortable life as they get older. If the government can dip into social security to fund the new healthcare initiative why can't they afford a cost of living increase to the very ones who need the healthcare and are paying for it?

It should be against the law for our seniors to be treated the way our government treats them. People can pop out one baby after another and get guaranted citizenship and anything else they want. Wake up America! make those that are able to work get off their butt and go to work so the people who are not able and have paid taxes get what they are entitles to and deserve.

I believe instead of america trying to govern the world they should try to help the ones who built this great country...

Social Security increases for seniors have been denied for 3 years and yet our bills continue to rise including Medicare deductibles, cost of medicine, not to mention our everyday living expenses. It is nearly impossible to make it through a month with such limited means and so many of us do without the simplest things in life.

I was waiting to get my RX and the man in front of me had to pay out over a hundred dollars for his Rx Oh my gosh really? He told the girl waiting on him that left 25 dollars for grocery's. I was just floored. These older people need a BIG brake.

Seniors work their whole lives in hopes of retiring comfortably in their golden years only to have to deal with a government that just don't appreciate them, n gives breaks to the rich n forgets about us working class people n the elderly n now even the Veterans who also haven't got a pay raise either these people put their lives on the line for this country only to be put away like trash, I have been in stores where elderly people couldn't afford to pay for their groceries n I've worked...

No one should have to face this problem especially the elderly, give the elderly the cost of living increase they so much deserve n need to live in this society of trickled down government.

I too am now one of those senior citizens and I too pay outrageous prices for meds! For years I've watched seniors in the stores buying meds which cost an arm n a leg........a cost of living increase would be appreciated by us seniors! Pharmacies are getting rich at our expensence!
