I am a 5 month breast cancer survivor and my sister was a victim of this disease and she went to heaven in 2000 at the age of 38 after battling for 6 years. Now 16 years later I was diagnosed with IDC breast cancer and had a lumpectomy. I went in in stage 1 and can out in stage 1. Early detection really does save lives. I am 52 years old and have been taking mammograms since my early 30s. This time when I had my mammogram in February they saw something that was not there last year. To God be...

I am a WINNER and will continue to fight for a cure.

I've not had breast cancer in my family. Though an aunt died of pancreatic cancer and my father died of an unknown cancer (he never told) - I never knew of anyone with breast cancer in the family. I guess I'm the first. I was diagnosed on June 12th, 2014. I discovered it very early, much to the surprise of my doctor. But now comes the surviving part... the decisions of what to do, where to go from here to treat this. I'm hoping to have some sort of support group to help me navigate all these...

I'm keeping positive, mentally motivated and trying to learn as much as I can. It is overwhelming at times. But I'm looking forward to putting this behind me... and continuing to live my life cancer free...
