As a young boy growing up on a farm in Pennsylvania I trapped muskrats to earn money.I always played by all the rules, checked my traps every morning and tried to create sets where the animals drowned quickly and didn't suffer long. I now look back on those days and can't believe how heartless and cruel I was. It's time to put a stop to the torture.

I was a danger to all wildlife from age 12-14. A menace, armed with a semi-automatic CO2 BB gun. On one camping trip, my best friend and I shot so many birds, our fathers were DISGUSTED with us! We thought it was weird that they 'freaked out' on us. When I was 14, and the Vietnam War was still raging, I went dove hunting. Shot a white one, only wounding it. There it lay, as I approached...the symbol of peace during the war...writhed on the ground, on its back, frightened and mortally...

There it lay, as I approached...the symbol of peace during the war...writhed on the ground, on its back, frightened and mortally wounded, bright red blood splashed across its pristine white feathers. I blew the poor thing away with my shotgun...it was the most compassionate thing I could do at the moment, but the adults i was with were pissed, not sharing my vision of war and death and hate. The image of that whole horrible fiasco is still fresh in my mind, 40 years later. I never willfully killed another living thing. Isn't growing up supposed to produce positive change, even in the most grotesque, testosterone-filled little heathens that are homo sapien teenage boys?

Hard to understand then why so many teenage boys (or kid for that matter) would be given a semi-automatic gun be it a BB gun or otherwise. It's not a toy and no kid should be given one, period.

We must remember,we invade the animals space, not they ours. We are the selfish ones to blame. Our creator give us the whole world so that we can rule over animals and look after them. Please be kind to them. Help with donations that they can look after these poor animals.

Trapping must stop immediately because it is an example of extreme animal cruelty and abuse.

1. There are a number of photographs on the internet of wolf trappers teasing living wolves caught foothold traps before the suffering and frightened animal is either clubbed to death or shot. Such cruelty and exhibitionism must be stopped.

2. Many wolf trappers do not want to check traps every three or four hours and want the legal time extended to 72 hours. This means a trapped wolf will die...

3. Trapping is indiscriminate. Eagles, bobcats, wolverines, swift foxes and pet dogs have been caught in traps set for wolves during the 2012-13 hunting season in states where wolf culls are legal.

4. Ohe of the most obscene form of animal cruelty is baiting traps with wolf carcasses so members its family will be attracted to the scent as they search for their lost relative and meet a cruel death themselves.

Because traps are indiscriminate and have no place in this world. If I could personally destroy every trap in the woods I would.

It is important to me because it is the nature of life's cycle to procreate and live freely. It is man's gendre to trap and kill in a cruel and selfish manner. THIS MUST STOP ASAP.

Trapping is a VERY CRUEL way for such a beautiful animal to have to die. There have been cases where a mother wolf chewing off her own leg so she could get back to her helpless babies! Also many times the trap does not kill the animal instantly and they slowly and painfully die...all the while trying to free themselves from the trap that is slowly sufficating them to death if the trap is around their neck. But too many times the poor wolf is still alive and they are clubbed to death (so...

Why do we have to allow this cruelty to endure for another 7 years? Trapping should be banned from right now.

This is so damned cruel. How anyone could do this and still sleep at night is beyond me. To cause such a dreadful death to any creature is an abomination and should stop immediately, why wait for 2020 ? stop it now. Animal fur should stay on the animal, we do not live in caves and hunt for food and clothing, we are able to go shopping and buy our coats. However animals can not shop and need their own coats that they were born with. All clothing made with real fur should be banned and those...

the long agony that these trapped animals must face is unconscionable. i am forever amazed at the arrogance of some human beings and their misguided belief that they are more important and powerful than any other species on earth.please put an end to this barbaric, inhumane practice of trapping.and try to educate those who have been so indoctrinated in the old ways of trapping that they have not acknowledged the horror and cruelty of it all. banning the practice of using traps...

Some of us decide to evolve, while others ignore the possibilty. Those that choose to remain in a dismissive and or disconnected stagnate evolutionionary freeze, do so because abstract thought eludes them. Young children(ages 0 to 11 or 12) are believed to not be capable of abstract and hypothetical thinking, or are they(cultural programing)? Intelligence happens with time, while emotional(empathy and sympathy) intelligence happens with intelligent parenting(aside from psychotic disorders the molding of minds crucial from ages 3 to 6.) Children aside, adults can no longer use culture excuse as to continue a dismissal of another creaures importance. Often a persons emtional intelligence is stonewalled by cultural expectations. Unless a person is mentally challenged(severe to profound) our choice becomes evident, we have one. Choice is largely ignored due to societal ignorance of need and the thought of sport or the thrill to killI.It is believed children lack this ability, but adults ignore it and do so through finger pointing as to escape ownership in ones own actions. This abscence in emotional growth(or emotional evolution) toward another living creatures rightful place is developed within a persons culture and is the pre reqisit for a disconnect, but It doesn't have to be. Your disconnect of self from selves(all forms of life and its varying levels of intelligence) is only needed when furthering anti social behavior through cultural excuse.German Nazi was considered a culture, was there behavior acceptable. Consciousness starts with your awareness of such, and awareness begins with recognizing the importance of all life and its many intelligences. Our own evolutionary growth depends on this awareness and awareness is the balance. Afterall evolution can only happen with emotional growth. If emotional growth continues to be stonewalled or ignored it will eat itself, hence man being rendered extinct. Some of us need to play catch up with the rest. We take our fist step towards this with an acknowledgement in our own freedom of choice. Secondly we recognize our decisions can affect any and all forms of life, so we own our actions. When you delibrately ignore choice and its freedom, with continued acts of cruelty, you are showing God you are god, while inviting his retribution through karma or "come uppins". So stay wrapped in your disconnected cocoon while the rest of us take our rightful place on the evolutionary ladder. ALSO, if you are posting on animal cruelty sites as the voice of right and wrong and you still eat MEAT, you still need to take your first step.
