It's 50/50 I get the whole zombie thing... but I also don't get why they didn't make her look more like a zombie (note most the guy ones have green skin...) so yeah... it's not too far a loop to imaging no, she's not a zombie, she's a person... HOWEVER I will go further and point out that neither the NRA nor Zombie industries isn't so stupid as to market her as "the ex" she's just another bleeding target. It's a bad idea I don't approve of the target and honestly I wouldn't spend that...

It's a bad idea I don't approve of the target and honestly I wouldn't spend that sort of money for a target anyway. However I'm not signing, as the petition is over hyping their case to get sympathy. Approach this again saying you simply don't like the target, it's a little too realistic and I'd probably agree with you and sign.

You make some good points James, Just curious though what you mean regarding "sympathy" when you say "...over hyping their case to get sympathy"? Just not sure who you're meaning is trying to get the sympathy.

I feel the author(s) of these petition, while well intentioned are intentionally pulling at the heartstrings or invoke an instant emotional response, especially since exaggerated their facts... I feel the author(s) of these petition, while well intentioned are intentionally pulling at the heartstrings or invoke an instant emotional response, especially since exaggerated their facts... (I'm sure there are some good ole' boys who are members of the NRA who probably made jokes about her being their "ex" The author presents as fact the name of the target and a sinister plot against women by the NRA and the company of the target... when the reality is there is no conspiracy. I feel the author is attempting to get sympathy by drawing dotted lines and implications and thrusting them upon us as fact. The author presents us with an image of domestic violence, rather than the target itself and says this is part of a greater plot to encourage it. The reality is people are lazy and horny... they made the female zombie younger and sexier looking and more human looking.
As for the target itself, it's an overpriced toy. I don't like the video at the MFG's website, as they do treat the target just like a zombie, but it reeks of testosterone overdose... a large group of men firing at least a dozen rounds each at the singular (female) target and then the final shooter following up with 15 rounds at close range. - that's not proper target practice, that's boys playing with destructive toys and indulging in their urge to destroy something. Yes, the MFG is probably trying to prove it's claim the target can take thousands of rounds, however if the entire point of the "zombie" target is to create your own little zombie apocalypse. *If* you are facing an apocalyptic situation, would you waste 15 rounds of ammo on a single target? Especially if you don't know where you are going to find more ammo? No... you are going to either fire defensively to protect yourself (as few rounds as possible, but shooting more if the target continues to move) or you are not panicking, you will aim and take out critical areas. The shooters depicted in the video are the very "gun nuts" that give 90% of firearm owners a bad name. As such honestly, I'm sickened by the video on multiple levels... and I agree with boycotting the product. I'm fine with zombie targets, I'm fine with 3d "bleeding" targets. But if you're going to make real world targets they should be made to look threatening or completely generic (general body shape)

But it never will. If 20 dead babies who are dead simply because their parents sent them off to school is not enough to change things then nothing is.

I like to target shoot, but I can't say that the idea of shooting a person and watching them bleed sounds particularly fun to me. It's actually quite scary. I'm not sure that I would want a lifelike doll to remind me that I have the potential to kill someone. I know that in a lot of ways, hunting is about killing, but I always thought of it meant getting in touch with your primal roots and knowing where your food comes from, not killing and hurting living things just for kicks.

I'm not a fan of the idea of normalizing intimate partner violence. I also think that it's no coincidence that this is a female doll. It seems to be perfectly appropriate in our society to make a joke out of victimizing women. I am not usually the type to oppose violent video games or movies, but this seems to take that role play to a dangerous level. If we decide to believe that old adage "guns don't kill people, people kill people," then maybe we should think twice before we indulge the fantasies of individuals with violent tendencies.

If you actually looked at the Zombie Industries website, you would find that it is not called "the ex". It's also the only female target in a line of male and animal zombie targets.

Disgusting. Those who wish to "relieve" themselves in this way should learn to forgive their ex ones instead of indulging in their cruel revenge.

By beholding, we become changed. That's not only a verse from the Bible (2 Cor 3:18), that's what modern science proved - we have "mirror neurons" (see it on Wiki) which fire both when we act, and when we observe the same action performed by another. Thus we become desentisized to violence and aggressiveness when we watch it on film or TV show.

Now, if only watching does this to your brain, imagine what acting (though virtually) on your cruel passions does to your brain. No wonder that each day we grow increasingly greater number of monsters ready to beat or kill even defenseless women and school children.

Are you also signing a petition against zombie male and zombie animal targets? This is the only female zombie in the manufacturer, Zombie Industries, line of zombie targets.
