I'm going to have to go and buy something teal to wear in memory of my Mom, Deanna A. "Deedy" Bonvillain, to go with my teal Ovarian Cancer ribbon.

She fought a hard 2 year and 4 months until she passed on April 23, 2005. The years without her have been the roughest years of my life. I miss her every day. I want to hear her voice and feel her hugs. I want to listen to her guidance. I want her to tell me what to do. My life has gone in a very different direction since her passing and has left me unhappy, isolated, and sometimes even miserable. But tomorrow, I will walk tall and stand proud in her memory! For she has taught me to be strong in times of adversity. Tomorrow will be MY day for HER! Love you Mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks Mary! And, you're right......sometimes it's just too late. My mom did surgery and chemo until they told her nothing was working. She lasted 1 month until her passing while having to have fluid removed from her belly every week just to stay comfortable. There has to be a way to pretest people to find this vicious form of cancer. It truly takes those incredibly happy and healthy people for a whirlwind.

I was a nine year survivor when a metastasis showed up in a cyst on my esophagus. Weird? Yes. But after six months of chemo again, all is well. We have to keep fighting and making a louder noise about this type of cancer. And tomorrow is our day to make noise and wear teal.
