Funny how all this stuff is cleeearly stated in the treaties that helped form Canada yet theres already been a long exhausting courtcase to fight for what is stated black n white on Legal documents. child can see that the govt is corrupted. Breaking Treaty rights is breaching. Not fulfilling promises made ....treaties were made for peace n friendship...but in the govt eyes they are based on one thing only. CORRUPTION.

Yes, it is a shame that treaties are not honored. Recently in Winnipeg Manitoba, I saw that the government of, by law, is now having to pay moneys to the Metis Nation for a treaty that was signed over one hundred years ago. This treaty, concerned rent for all the land that Winnipeg now sits on. A judgement was made in court very recently. The amount of money owed, will be staggering. However, since that information came out in the news, there has been nothing said since. The government knows...

However, since that information came out in the news, there has been nothing said since. The government knows that having to compensate the aboriginal people in Canada will cause major problems for them.
I hear people in Canada say, " the Indians got it made cause we pay them treaty money".
If one does the math and figures out how much money has been made for the Canadian Government and private enterprise over the years, from the use of native lands, it is massive!
The paltry amount native peoples have received both in cash and services over the years is a drop in the bucket compared to what has been ripped off from them. It must be 100's of billions or more. I hope that the future will show that the Canadian government in fairness, finally came clean with the monies owed to the aboriginal community and assisted said community in becoming whole once more.

I have been living on social assistance on the sucker creek first nation for a long period now, for personal reasons. I moved into my sister's place, and I guess the person living here before didn't pay the water bill, so now, after I've told my social worker to deduct from my monthly income to pay for that mistake, which isn't mine, they still have the nerve to cut me off of bringing me water...even I had my kids here visiting for the weekend, I had too send them home to...
