No to killer sprays, beause we need these busy bees to pollenate the flowers of our essential fruit and vegetables, and collect the nectar for honey.

They are part of our environment. Without them as with many if not most, life as we know it would change for the worse. More people dying of cancer etc etc you get the BIG PICTURE here?

I agree with this petition n will gladly sign this. BUT..in the Country, in Texas where I live, 6 years ago, I almost died from KILLER BEES, small AFRICANIZED Crossed honey bees. I was attacked by a swarm, n bitten, over 200 times, hospitalized, the same day, two different incidents of bee attacks within 60 mile range, of Killer Bees, NOT honey Bees, someone tried 2 cross this species. These other incidents, both farmers died, trying to outrun these bees. Bitten only 25 to 30 times each....

Now Last week, I was on my riding mower, n a large swarm of HONEY BEES attacked me n my husband, he is a diabetic, n allergic, and I am allergic, now because of the first attack of Killer Bees. We now have a house full of hives, a storage house full, n you all say they are extinct? I did not know this was possible with so many colonies freely living here. I can not go outside my backyard in the daytime, without them attacking.I am going to have them safely removed somehow, any ideas??

A local beekeeper, for instance someone paid to provide pollinator services to fruit orchards, will be glad to remove any colony that has set itself up in an inconvenient place. I hope you can approach a local group rather than have them exterminated. Many thanks and good luck to you.

I will try, we are in the country, nearest large town is 100 miles away. The local Bee man, that has been servinging this area, exterminates them, and since these have gotten so aggressive, they got inside his bee suit, and he is not happy. He was stung bad, I am attempting to try Texas A&M University, and see if they will remove them. I will try everything I can to NOT have them exterminated, we have NO local bee keepers around, I thought of it, because this area is thick with bees, but I...

When will we learn to stop messing around with things we don't understand, yet think we do!?? I wonder do killer bees produce honey, being from such stock? if so re-queening the colony with a passive honey queen bee might turn the colony back to normal in a matter of two of three months during the summer. worth checking this out. the problem is actually doing it without risking life of the beekeeper. I hate unnecessary killing, but it maybe the only way. as an ex-beekeeper i would be interested in knowing how you get on. keep well Melvyn

Oh, it is of vital importance..
Besides the honey... which has so many healing properties..
Well, ecosystems are complex, possibly too complex for us to be able to understand all the connections and actions and interactions that takes place within them.
Now, with bees and honey bees in particular we know that over one-third of our food supply relies upon them for pollination services and we know that pollination is essential for the reproduction of the plants the bees service.

Oh, it is of vital importance..

The honey bee is a major pollinator of many of our food crops, almonds, apples, avocados, blueberries, cantaloupes, cherries, cranberries, cucumbers, sunflowers, watermelon and many other crops all rely on honey bees for pollination.
So if honey bees disappear and we do not find replacements that can do the work they do then foods that we take for granted will decrease in supply and increase in price.
The main reason that the honey bees is important for our world is as simple as this; if the honey bee does not pollinate the crops, the crops do not grow and produce the food that gets harvested and brought to the store where we buy it and bring it home to feed ourselves and our families.

So true Loukia. If we lose Bees, almost everything tht we eat that comes from a plant will be gone, due to they being the ones that pollenate the flowers in order for the trees to flower and therefor 'fruit'.
To live on this planet is a PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT!!
Wake up peeps!!....there aint no other planet we can inhabit.
