I would love so much to meet someone who can consider the jobless in terms of sustainability in terms of nutrition through maybe a small start to an income generating activity . Many people loss hope of stress associated with and not the virus itself ..Many people in Africa go through hard and tough challenges ,, Yes i can be very glad if i can get someone who can support me for a start up...

I am proud to sign in honor of all who have died from this and in honor of all who are living with it now, but mostly in honor of future generations who (I hope) will never be affected by HIV and AIDS!

Sign our petition calling on Obama to talk about a CURE for AIDS in his upcoming national address (you don't have to be American to do this): http://alturl.com/krxt9.

While many see HIV/AIDS as a manageable disease that no longer deserves discussion, if you're in the US, someone will be infected before the next commercial break on tv! Yes, in the United States, someone is still infected every 10 minutes! This means that there will soon be another person who will require medications that sell for more than $1,000/month in order to survive! Many of these will be covered by taxpayer dollars or insurance that our nation can no longer afford. A cure is...

Many of these will be covered by taxpayer dollars or insurance that our nation can no longer afford. A cure is what's needed! Until the last few years, this was just a dream, but it has become a reality for a special few. Granted, the treatment that Timothy Ray Brown received is not available nor warranted for most people, but it is proof that it can be done. The pharmaceutical companies have no incentive to come up with a cure because they are reaping the benefits of the international need for their medications. It's up to our Government leaders to take ownership of this need and fund the research and/or treatments to make the cure reality for all!

Natalie, I'd written a long, detailed response to your question only to lose it in a power surge/brownout! Basically, Magic Johnson was lucky enough, as have been many of my friends, to survive until the HAART ("AIDS cocktail") therapy was discovered. The initial therapy with AZT which was a discarded cancer drug, kept people going until specific medications were created to fight the disease. Treatment has come a long way since then but it is still a deadly disease and the medications are...

Treatment has come a long way since then but it is still a deadly disease and the medications are causing long-term side effects. I could tell you much more about it, but I'd really rather you hear it from people who have lived it themselves. Please go to https://www.facebook.com/RiseUpToHIVandHCV to learn more directly from people who have been infected or affected by it. This group is a campaign to try to eliminate the stigma of being HIV positive and the difficulties that can arise from the diagnosis. These folks are bravely putting it all out there, risking the prejudice and potential repercussions of their openness and honesty, to help educate others and keep others from having to go through what they have and continue to do on a daily basis! My heart goes out to each and every one for their bravery! I may not know them all, personally, but I love them all!
