Are we now living in an era where children are not free to experiment freely in school? Where they get punished for assignments gone wrong? How much has changed since I was in high school. Very sad.

Lets stop trying to police every innocent mistake a student makes. Clearly she is going to be of value to our society and may be one who chooses research and science as a profession. Free Kiera Wilmont and throw out the charges and offer her some tutoring.

Where is the love? This is far out and unintentional.
EDUCATED ADULTS should explain the danger of the experiment and then encourage the young lady to always research the project prior to demonstrating it and always use caution and protective gear. This is yet another racist and discriminatory attack on a (young) female of African descent. If this had been a non-African, there would be no The Black Women's Defense League, (BWDL) one of the "direct action" units of the National Million Woman March/Movement will call for a Protest Rally in Barlow, Fl. if this nonsense is not dismissed soon. Stay tuned

Was this a school science project? If not, why didn't she conduct it at home?
While Kiera's intentions in mixing the two elements might not have been to cause harm, in light of heightened anxiety over school violence and the recent Boston Marathon bombing, such behavior can not be taken lightly.

So it comes down to this. A black girl, intelligent and keen on learning science and you, Homeland Paranoia, are going to toss her future in the dumpster just like that? It was a science experiment. Do you even know what the word experiment means? By its very definition, experimenting, Kiera did not know ahead of time what the outcome of her science project would be. She is young, inquisitive, and curious. Like most youngsters. So now what? You want to throw away her bright future because...

This is what Terrorists have done to YOU, homelanders. They've got you chasing your tail and looking like fools, in this case. The terrorists win, WITH YOUR HELP, if you ruin Kiera's bright future. No You. The terrorists. It's high time you added some common sense to that paranoia. Just because terrorists are worthless assholes and you are scared of your own shadow, don't ruin this young girl's life. It was a harmless science project.

I think it's a shame to charge the young talented student for something like this. I believe she meant no harm. Every situation should be examined carefully before the authorities jump to a hasty conclusion and press charges on her as an adult for something she is complete innocent off is wrong.
All of the charges should be dropped immediately and allow this child to return to her classes, she should be encouraged in a career of science where she would learn all the element of doing it...

All of the charges should be dropped immediately and allow this child to return to her classes, she should be encouraged in a career of science where she would learn all the element of doing it with caution, and maybe someday she would make all of us proud to be one of America's top scientist. How about that!
