The best way to prevent cancer in pets is to stop overvaccinating. As someone who rescued 751 dogs, I have the "data" to back up my statement. Pets benefit from minimal vaccinating. Considering that I haven't been able to raise even $1 to help 3 horses that were starved, having millions of dollars go for "preventing" pet cancer when it is already very preventable is frustrating in the extreme. Why is it that people will donate for research but not donate to help living beings that are already suffering and need help?

Again, if you want your pets to lead long, healthy lives, minimal vaccinations are the key. There are a number of enlightened veterinarians who have stated this. I have spoken to literally thousands of dog owners over the years, and with 1 exception, all the dogs who died of cancer age 12 or younger were vaccinated yearly. Rabies vaccines are required by law, but the other vaccines are not. Puppy immunity is generally good for life. Vets are making a lot of money vaccinating and then...

Vets are making a lot of money vaccinating and then treating dogs for auto-immune diseases, seizures and cancer, all of which are caused by vaccines.

Good for you! One woman I spoke with said her Chihuahua lived to 23 yrs. When I asked how often the Chihuahua was vaccinated, she sheepishly admitted, "Honey, she never saw a vet after she was 3 years old." Friends who stopped vaccinating were amazed to see how their dogs and cats health improved. One friend had a small dog with seizures that started when she was 3 years old (again, from vaccines). She stopped vaccinating, started Milk Thistle for the dog's liver, and the dog lived to 20 yrs old.

None of my dogs are over vaccinated - they only get the minimal vaccinations needed when and if they are boarded, and yet we lost 2 to cancer. Probably a 3d who had a bleeding disorder....so this doesnt stand up any better than the immunization.autism links

Danielle, Vaccinating at all after your dog is 5 months old is overvaccinating. The only vaccine I give after that time is the rabies vaccine as required by law. I have a number of dogs here who have a "Letter of Exemption" for the rabies vaccines because of seizures, liver damage or auto-immune diseases caused by vaccines. Dr. Robert Schultz does not vaccinate his dogs after puppyhood and one of his goldens lived to be 15. Every case of nasal cancer that I know of in dogs were in dogs...

Every case of nasal cancer that I know of in dogs were in dogs that received intranasal vaccines for kennel cough. My dogs do not get any distemper/parvo vaccines after 1 vaccine during puppyhood. The Lyme, Giardia and Lepto vaccines are extremely harmful. The lepto vaccine should never be given to puppies or dogs under 20 lbs due to "adverse and fatal reactions", yet vets routinely give it to these very puppies and dogs. Vaccinating yearly is the kiss of death for many dogs, but vaccinating every three years has also caused many fatalities.

In December 2011 I lost my Jack to rectal cancer which had been diagnosed 9 months earlier; in April 2012 we lost our granddog Althea to lung cancer - coughing one day, gone the next....

What about rabies vaccinations? I know by law it's required. Do the rabies vaccinations cause cancer too? That's the only vaccination I get.

No one found out until about a year ago. I fed them to my dogs all the time. It said healthy, chicken, made in the US. Killed many dogs. Only one thing was true and that was the statement Dogs will love. My three dogs loved them. You cant trust anything from China. They eat dogs and cats so it is hard to say what they had in the chicken strips but they were on the market for several years. Under Canyon Creek and another one

I already lost 2 out of my 3 dogs because of the Chicken Jerky from China. The packaging lied and said made in the US but was actually made in China. There has been a big law suit on the Packaging Company that put "Made in the US". Many dogs got cancer and other diseases. The last three weeks, I lost two out of my three dogs.
