We have a charity rehoming dogs and are totally sickened by this exploitation. We see lots that have originated from puppy farms and they come to us when people realise that they are way out of their depth trying to care for these poor souls, such is the level of trauma they have suffered. Shut down the lot we say, is there ever such a thing as a 'good' puppy farm?

So many unwanted dogs in shelters all over the country as it is, to keep breeding more for profit is immoral and disgraceful. these poor animals are unhealthy and kept in squalid conditions. most of them don't survive long. let's stop this horrible practice.

Incomprehensible and absurd for this council to permit this filthy puppy farm to continue when millions of unwanted, abandoned healthy companion animals are killed every year! Words can't describe the mentality of the councillors or who makes this decisions! The sickening misery of these animals and their struggles because of the poor health causing so much stress and discomfort demonstrates this council's deficiency in performing its duties for the welfare of animals. This is an intolerable situation and requires referring to higher levels of government where rational persons can see wrong, inhumane and lack of integrity in this councils' operations. These people should be fired for suspicions of supporting this puppy farm in an underhand way because this makes no sense whatsoever in a civilised society!

The spread of cruelty associated with livestock farming needs to stop, it does not need extending to companion animals. Also as a proud Welshwoman I strongly object to the fact that the whole of Wales is tarred by the abhorrent practices that are sanctioned, primarily, within one local authority. Perhaps a shake-up of the inspection team is needed in Carmarthen and staff recruited from out of area, to ensure no familial or friendship ties are put ahead of animal welfare. Carmarthen...

Carmarthen Council get your act together, your disgraceful reputation is worldwide. Perhaps a Welsh Government inspectorate team is what is needed to sort things out in Carmarthen and a TOTAL ban on dog breeding for the next 5 years to give animal welfare groups and rescues a chance to find homes for the thousands of dogs in shelter and foster all over the UK. In other words clear up the mess you have made for the rest of the UK. Personally, I would like to see you fined for sanctioning this misery and the money used to help rescues big and small who are full to bursting point with sick, deformed and unwanted dogs. Your animal inspectorate need to spend a week with rescues and see the huge human and financial input that is needed to save just one dog. Perhaps that will give you the impetus needed to get your house in order.
