I am as a Chinese do not fancy or find anything good about shark fin soup. Hate to see those pictures of sharks that have fins cut off. In addition to sharks, eating turtles and dogs are also crazy and should be ban.

hhmmm, you must be from another country Scottie? Animal abuse is world wide. WE AS AMERICANS SPEAK FOR ALL ANIMALS NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED ON THE GLOBE.

Shark fin is a very popular and considered to be expensive food in Hong Kong & China. But as soon as I learned how they abandon the shark after cutting their fin, I feel so sick to have the shark fin soup. I won't take it and won't let my family ordering it in any eating out occasions. It works and now most restaurants in Hong Kong are not selling shark fin soup. I'm glad the society is changing since the awareness has been brought up

That's right Yoly. People need to be aware of the process of their food before it ends up on their plate. This to me is very important.

have you gone out with a fishing boat to see them cut off the fin and throw the shark back in to drown? no? then have you been to australia to have fish and chips? cuz the fish fillet in fish and chips in australia uses shark meat. so no matter what, whether you have fins for dinner or not, sharks are still dying. be more aware of the underlying problem of society, earning money riding on their whims and facies of "donating to stop finning".

This atrocity also happens in Australian waters - it's barbaric. The fins are removed and the live shark tossed back in to die a horrible, painful death. When I was a kid I saw several Asian fishing boats moored in Sydney Harbour, each had many lines running the length of the deck with fins closely pegged like washing, so so many fins. "What's that?" I asked, my Dad said "Shark fin soup", I didn't think about it then presuming the rest of the shark was also used, just another fish, just...

It was only in my teens when I discovered the waste of this hideous practice and remembered those hundreds and hundreds of fins that the horror set in. But a whale shark! this picture has reignited the flame of protest in me. It is as unacceptable as killing Rhinos for their horn and Elephants for their tusks. It must be stopped!

The selling of shark fin soup is alive and well in NY...especially NYC.......and it disgusts me to no end and I am being nice when I say it like that because pure profanity is what flies through my mind and mouth when I discuss it with those who know me well. ~D~
