hhmmm, you must be from another country Scottie? Animal abuse is world wide. WE AS AMERICANS SPEAK FOR ALL ANIMALS NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED ON THE GLOBE.

Shark fin is a very popular and considered to be expensive food in Hong Kong & China. But as soon as I learned how they abandon the shark after cutting their fin, I feel so sick to have the shark fin soup. I won't take it and won't let my family ordering it in any eating out occasions. It works and now most restaurants in Hong Kong are not selling shark fin soup. I'm glad the society is changing since the awareness has been brought up

That's right Yoly. People need to be aware of the process of their food before it ends up on their plate. This to me is very important.

have you gone out with a fishing boat to see them cut off the fin and throw the shark back in to drown? no? then have you been to australia to have fish and chips? cuz the fish fillet in fish and chips in australia uses shark meat. so no matter what, whether you have fins for dinner or not, sharks are still dying. be more aware of the underlying problem of society, earning money riding on their whims and facies of "donating to stop finning".

I just saw this picture and Im horrified, very CRUEL all for unnecessary food that we dont need to be eating. The planet has enough land to grow vegetables for everyone to eat.

If you do eat meat buy it from a local farmer not Wally World or a factory. For the sake of our Ocean leave this hunter alone he is busy keeping the waters pure for us, he is part of the system. There was a time when I didn't care about sharks. Didn't like them either. But that all changed years ago when I watched this documentary on sharks and there was actual footage of a man cutting its fins and throwing the shark back in the ocean..leaving the shark to bleed to death. That was enough to make me start to care about them.

I hate this. I have loved sharks for a few years now, after watching Shark Week and learning how majestic they actually are. These "fish" aren't like every other fish, which most ppl don't understand. It takes many years for them to reproduce, and similar to mammals like us, a lot of sharks give live birth to babies that have umbilical cords. They are also smart hunters and are NOT man eaters, like many believe due to old legends, stories, and now movies. It is true that a shark will bite a...

It takes many years for them to reproduce, and similar to mammals like us, a lot of sharks give live birth to babies that have umbilical cords. They are also smart hunters and are NOT man eaters, like many believe due to old legends, stories, and now movies. It is true that a shark will bite a person, and they have POWERFUL jaws that can bite off limbs or leave life threatening injuries, but usually a shark will go away after finding out the human was not it's prey. Sharks deserve more respect, and I' happy to see Shark Enthusiasts and Divers who enjoy seeing sharks in our oceans. We need to protect them from being Finned. I am part of Shark Savers. Please look them up as well. :3

Apart from the cruelty and pain caused to another species on this earth I wish people would consider the way shark finning (in fact, any form of unnecessary killing of animals in the sea) is causing enormous damage to the seas' eco-systems. They do an excellent job of clearing out animal refuse left to rot and destroy the healthy state of the oceans after other species have left their rubbish behind, (man being probably the worst), which includes a large percentage of the dead shark...

They do an excellent job of clearing out animal refuse left to rot and destroy the healthy state of the oceans after other species have left their rubbish behind, (man being probably the worst), which includes a large percentage of the dead shark carcases as well. If left to do their watery job as vacuum cleaners, they would help keep the earth clean and healthy.

This is not for human feed so do not slaughter them for fins.
