Hi Ginette, for health, conservation and ethical reasons so am I, I have more energy then ever, meat as you know is not an efficient source of protein for humans, humans do not have all the enzymes necessary to breakdown the amino acids from the protein chains in meat along with many other reasons supported by science. Hi Ginette, for health, conservation and ethical reasons so am I, I have more energy then ever, meat as you know is not an efficient source of protein for humans, humans do not have all the enzymes necessary to breakdown the amino acids from the protein chains in meat along with many other reasons supported by science. Ginette as you know cattle ranching is what is taking over most of wolves territories, uses up large amounts of water and other resources ect.. and yet very little nutritional value gained from eating meat verses healthy vegan diet. The key is for people like yourself and myself to continue to educate meat eaters and believe me critical mass will be reached. I have a leaflet I designed on my computer I give to all my colleagues, friends, deliver in people's doors and give to clients re all the great reasons to be vegetarian/vegan with a book list on the bottom. I highly recommend creating one yourself and all vegan people and sharing it works. I know 8 people who are now almost vegan and healthy vegans due to my leaflets and health education people want to do what is right, but the meat/dairy myth is still strong, but getting less. Go for it, share all the great reasons to be vegan.

Hi Olimpia I agree. The meat/dairy myth regarding their now proven to be untrue health benefits, by countless nutritional researchers can be dispelled by people like yourself. Cattle ranching in the US is the largest user of water supplies, land and other valuable resources. Taking of course land away from wolves ect.. One way I highly recommend to help educated people about eating a plant based diet is to design a sheet on word re: all the great reasons to be vegan/vegetarian. I...

One way I highly recommend to help educated people about eating a plant based diet is to design a sheet on word re: all the great reasons to be vegan/vegetarian. I did with 10 stellar facts including vegans who eat a balanced vegan diet live longer based on studies I cited, have far less heart disease, as well as all the conservation/environmental reasons, moral and several other health reasons. At the bottom of the one sheet vegan info sheet I provided some easy references including the Engine 2 website for people to look at for ideas of what to eat as a vegan and why so much healthier ect... A vegan diet or almost as some people like to eat free range eggs is a game changer, Bill Clinton now 100% vegan so is his daughter.

There ARE wolves in the US, they had to be reintroduced ( in some areas) so we could get the deer under control. Remember all the car collisions with deer? There are wolves and coyotes in the US. But ranchers want to get rid of all of them., which is why the wolves had to be reintroduced in the first place to help control the White Tail deer population. We've had the deer in our back yard in Illinois eating our shrubs, etc. Bambi ain't cute with hooves hat can kill. Wolves handle them...

We've had the deer in our back yard in Illinois eating our shrubs, etc. Bambi ain't cute with hooves hat can kill. Wolves handle them perfectly, it's their job. We don't eat wolves! Ranchers claim they kill their cattle. Stop grazing on wild lands reserved FOR the wolves and their cattle will be safe. I can't and won't go vegan, but August is a fine time to lose more weight to drive home this problem by Not Buying Meat. I will pledge NOT to buy meat in August to help the wolves because the fear of colliding with deer is REAL, and I don't want to do it, if only for that reason. Wolves are better deer predators than I am.

I have been meat free for four months now and will never eat meat again.

They only kill to survive!! Like humans they need food to stay alive...but that's no reason to kill them!! They are living creatures like us!! The have the RIGHT to live like us!! Isn't it enough that we are taking their land and home?

The desire to trap and kill coyotes and wolves goes back a long time. We believed that if you killed the predators the food animals would populate better. Even Aldo Leuopold beleived this in his early years. Now we know better and these efforts to stop the horrendous suffering the animals go thru are worth it. I have seen what an animal is like after suffering in a trap for a long time and it will get to you deep if you have any kind of consciousness.

I agree with Cynthia,They only kill to survive!! and with what Robert said. Our planet is an ecosystem depending on smaller ecosystem where animals are very important. Only some ranchers an politics don't want to admit it!

The hunters will show examples of partially eaten livestock and wildlife as evidence that wolves kill for "sport," just as humans. That they'll kill well beyond what they can truly eat. I have seen the pictures.

However, do we really know what happened at the scene? How can we be sure that hunters did not scare the wolves off or worse, sacrifice their livestock to have their thrill of the kill (a punch of hunters can kill many wolves at a live kill). There have been cases where hunters...

However, do we really know what happened at the scene? How can we be sure that hunters did not scare the wolves off or worse, sacrifice their livestock to have their thrill of the kill (a punch of hunters can kill many wolves at a live kill). There have been cases where hunters purposely wounded elk to attract wolves so that they could shoot the wolves (and justify it). After all, conveniently, they have their cameras ready.

Also, wolves tend to come back for leftover meat, and this also feeds many other animals as part of a balanced ecosystem. The ranchers are easily compensated for their losses. These ranchers are also predominantly hunters, too. That's is an important clue as to the source of the problem. They want to hunt the wolf - that's the root of it. They need a "bad guy" to vilify and kill. Like the villagers and the Frankenstein monster.

Frankenstein is a myth and was never proved that he exist...but this animals do...in the year 2000 most people are talking about the end of the world...what they didn't know it already started...our Nature is out of controll and the killings of whether Humans and Animals...this is getting bitter for my taste...what would our world look like in 30-40 years?

Rita I think it is education, all the new nutritional research is proving meat/dairy is not as healthy as once believed, of course with all the moral/conservation reasons to not eat meat there is absolutely no logical reason to eat it. I have found when most people are given more info. re: all the great reasons to be vegan or practically as some people like some free range eggs/fish but no dairy or meat for sure, they slowly make the adjustment to no meat and dairy. I have given out a leaflet I designed with 10 great reasons to be vegan or close to,
with some resources listed on the bottom and it works. The key is to end all cattle ranching in the US, sounds huge, but really as more and more people learn there is a negative health impact from eating red meat and dairy they won't eat it. Meat based diets are on the way out. But we must all work together to educate our friends, family, neighbours, people in our communities ect.. Go for it Rita, in good health Erica.

I have been a vegetarian for 30 years, and 99% vegan for about a year- I recommend everyone at least reduce your meat, dairy, and egg consumption even if you're not ready to give it all up. We need to band together as conscientious consumers and not support the livestock industries that are behind the wildlife slaughter- not only wolves, but wild horses, bison, coyotes, and even prairie dogs!

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU CHRISTINE! WE have to stop this insanity and stop breeding (ourselves). By the year 2050 there will be 9 BILLION PEOPLE ON THIS PLANET! GOING VEGAN AND STOPPING HAVING MORE KIDS IS THE ONLY ANSWER.!!! WE are KILLING this PLANET. NO ONE SEEMS TO GET THAT. 9 BILLION!!! WHERE IS THE WILDLIFE THEN??? ANSWER THAT!

Not hard for me since I don't eat meat, pork, or poultry or even drink milk. We need to protect the wolves now.
