You guys are crazy. Do you think the RSPCA has the money and resources to house the pets for as long as they deserve? Have you been to your local RSPCA lately? Made a donation to them lately??? Most of you will answer no.. Well why don't you support RSPCA on making the change instead of criticizing them for the hard decisions they need to make. They can't save every animal and they do the best they can. Also a point to remember.. They are only human and this sounds like it was a mistake.....

I think you should all be ashamed for bagging out RSPCA when they do such a good job- better than you! Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Im sorry Karen but you are wrong - I read stories every day from Rescue Groups here in WA who are full to the brim and get calls from people who have been referred to them by the RSPCA - who say they are full when they arent. I have personally called them to ask for help and been denied, and also referred to Rescue Groups- groups who survive mostly on the good will of their carers and little else. The RSPCA get funded and recently in Perth were given over 1/2 million dollars in a bequest...

Max is not the first nor will he be the last - until the dealings are made public and more people become aware of what they are really doing.

Do you know how much of their donations are genuinely used for animals? Perhaps 10%

The RSPCA has both the money and the resources. Have a look at their Government funding, oh and then have a look at the bequests. Yes, they do save some animals but they need to change the way they operate NOW.

Not to mention pet insurance advertising and so much more. I donate as well. Think I may buy a property to rehouse these beautiful critters. There is a pet for everyone at least four weeks of trying really hard for a new person may have been acceptable. Poor boy wouldn't have known what hit him going to such a location after having his own family. I feel sad. Very sad

YAPS may have a no kill policy, but they turn away countless animals because they do not have the room because of keeping the animals indefinitely. This is a 'rock and a hard place' dilema- what do you do? When was the last time any of you people commenting on this adopted a cat, dontated land to build new kennels, volunteered, donated - it goes on and on? This is not easy. And what were Max's owners doing deciding to go off travelling long term while they still had the responsibility of a...

This is not the RSPCA's fault....

Earlier this year the Adelaide Advertiser ran a story where a notorious well known puppy farm operator (think its Paul) was able to remove and hide 100 dogs before the RSPCA got to the puppy farm failing these dogs so miserably. This was in the time from when the Media interviewed a pet shop seller regarding the source of his puppies to the time the RSPCA eventually turned up the puppy farm. Even though the name of the puppy farm operator was mentioned by the media, the RSPCA failed to coordinate the search to take place simultaneously or closely after. Apparently it was claimed that the pet shop person informed the Puppy farm operator of the media’s visit. In my opinion a group of 10 year old children would have saved these dogs if they were given the chance to do so! The questionable inefficiency of the RSPCA in this case should have been investigated thoroughly because it is a partly government funded organization as such taxpayers have a right to know how this happened. ACCOUNTABILITY: Lets save these ANIMALS from those who haven't a clue about animal behaviour = 'RSPCA'! Get an Education about dog behaviour first! People who want a pet; be accountable! Owning an animal is 'lLONG TERM' commitment! Taking on a pet is LIFE long & rewarding, not for everyone.
Take the pledge with me today.

I am never again going to donate my money towards astronomic salaries of useless managers in RSPCA or DogTrust. Found a local sanctuary, where I can bring food or pay the vet bill. Now I know that the support is where it's needed.

What good is the RSPCA?? they dont come and help the animals when u call, all they do is spend dead peoples money on their offices, for comfort for themselves, the money is suppose to be for the animals, imagine if the public knew the truth, we are only a minority of animal lovers that work with in rescue and know the truth behind the lies.. One day i wish for them to be shut down, and given the reins to convict animal cruelty/neglect/abandonment to be given to the smaller rescues that...

RSPCA are shit.
