The arts are just as important as any other key learning area.
Music in school opened a whole new world to me where I felt and expressed things I never dreamed of before. To take it away would be like going back to B&W TV.
This is very important especially learning a musical instrument as early as possible. Music is the best way to prevent antisocial behaviour and to get the young brains work at their best.
Without an appreciation or active participation in the arts we are lost as a civilised country.
Art is an important part of our society to provide cultural meaning to our lives and it begins in childhood.
We must have the opportunity to express. x
NO ART NO HEART...imagine kids not being able to encourage to feel or express emotions that art encourages us to do....no thanks.
I support this cause because I believe that it is essential that all children receive a well-balanced education that includes science, mathematics, history, geography, technical studies, life survival skills, human rights and social and environmental responsibility and the arts. The arts (art, drama and music) help young people to communicate to others as well as appreciate culture.
The "arts" involve all the core content and skills, math, reading, writing, thinking skills and communications. It is application of these skills that benefit the student throughout life.
Of course we m want to encourage the next Albert Einstein and Marie curie out their, but we equally need to be encouraging the next Pablo Picasso and Jimmy Hendrix, or the world would be a boring far less colour full place.
