My DD is an Aspie. (We are both autistic and have Asperger's Syndrome.) As a freshman in HS she has been in advanced band for 2 years, prior to that intermediate and beginner. She participates in plays that the drama department for the last 2 years. She isn't formally enrolled in the class but they have asked her to participate.
I think Velvet Eldred's comment says it all -- "The arts give us a sense of who we are, a language for our internal life".
I have Artists in the Family..It is a way of expressing themselves..a freedom of expression..All schoools should have Art for children to learn..It speaks in many languages..
The arts that I participated in when I was in school has given me a career, an appreciation for art design, and helped me raise thoughtful and enthusiastic young people.
Because children need to be exposed to many options in life so they can make decisions about their path towards their future. Even if they never turn towards the arts for a career or interest they should be exposed to the beauty out there in the many forms of the arts. A well rounded mind helps to insure more informed life choices.
Supported your cause cuz right thing to do
Art is one way to express yourself with words sometimes .... Because words sometimes hard to find ... Or say ...
Without words I mean ... Daaaa
Having The Arts available to children in public schools allows so many kids to shine....
Absolutely , I'll second that !
The Arts are the lifeblood of a healthy society - and the hearts' expression.
Without the arts, life is meaningless. Let us not let them snuff it out of our lives and the lives of our children.
