often students who are daunted by academic pursuits find their way using arts media where their true talents show.
I did an Art Matric when young, what joy, there is more to life than basic practicalities..... So sad to think that Australian governments are so myopic.
my dear friend had a terrible accident and can no longer work - depression set in and became really serious. Not having ever tried art(painting) I managed to get her to take a 10 week course and that was the beginning of an adventure she is still experiencing - she is thriving! AND STUDYING FULL TIME.
now the BAD news - the state government in australia has decided to cut all funding to art studies as it "...doesn't create jobs".
this seems to be a global movement of philistine thinking.
Because Art is important if we want to live in a fulfilling world...duh!
because too many youngsters are becoming too one dimensional...
The arts that I participated in when I was in school has given me a career, an appreciation for art design, and helped me raise thoughtful and enthusiastic young people.
Because children need to be exposed to many options in life so they can make decisions about their path towards their future. Even if they never turn towards the arts for a career or interest they should be exposed to the beauty out there in the many forms of the arts. A well rounded mind helps to insure more informed life choices.
Supported your cause cuz right thing to do
Art is one way to express yourself with words sometimes .... Because words sometimes hard to find ... Or say ...
Without words I mean ... Daaaa
Having The Arts available to children in public schools allows so many kids to shine....
Absolutely , I'll second that !
The Arts are the lifeblood of a healthy society - and the hearts' expression.
Without the arts, life is meaningless. Let us not let them snuff it out of our lives and the lives of our children.
