The arts have always been the soft target when it comes to fiscal belt-tightening, removing the arts from education is taking the soul out of living, out of life. Australia has a wonderful reputation around the world for what our creatives do in the visual arts, music, writing, architecture, film-making and more, all creatives have been through a public school education, that's where it starts and it needs to be maintained and nurtured there because that's where it all begins.
I was an art teacher and can't even begin to tell you how much of my own money I put in to fund my program.
I enjoyed the arts from Kindergarten through highschool and it was a great place to express myself. It also gave me an area where I could challenge myself at something that actually made me want to be at school.
The arts are a part of our genes it is the creative part without this training in school we will breed ignorance in our children.
there's too many cuts in education and other government things such as in hospital's art is an important way for younger people to learn respect for beauty and life.
Arts were always essential for Humanity!
Artistic endeavor bridges languages and culture and lets us recognize we are more alike than different. Thus they are at the very heart of civilization.
Creativity is a terrible thing to waste, and I believe that all of us have it in us somewhere. I just recently began painting and drawing. I have a long way to go to be as good as I would like to be, but given the opportunity in school, I would have been doing it all along. Art is a great release for depression and anxiety. Art of any kind.
It is as great tool for the mind!
Creative intelligence is as important as any other, and moreso for those whose main strengths are in that area.
C'est une part essentielle de l'Être!
