Honestly, who cares??!!!!! What about the hundred or so that died on the same day in Iraq and Afghanistan in seperate attacks that didn't make the news, my heartgoesout to the family's and friends of those people before I would ever conceive the thought of donating for "disaster" relief in the US, sorryamerica , my back is turned on this one. Sort your own demons out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your very limited compassion is so sad! Tell that to the mother of the 8-year-old boy who was killed. Of course, what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan is horrific! Nobody said it wasn't. This young man is simply trying to show his grief and anger in a constructive way, whereas you have only spouted nasty words and venom from your armchair.

I agree with Rebecca, this young man should be applauded for his efforts, not attacked with some un-american, ignorant, unsympathetic BS! No one said the things that happen elsewhere aren't horrible, but how about charity begins at home?

To the young man who has turned his back on america WHY DO YOU STILL LIVE HERE GO OVER THERE AND JOIN THEM LETS SEE HOW MUCH THEY WILL GIVE A SHIT WHO YOU ARE WANTING TO STAND WITH LETS SEE HOW THEY WILL TREAT YOU AND WELCOME YOU INTO THEIR WORLD AND LETS SEE IF THEY WILL SHARE THEIR JOBS,FOOD,AND SHELTER! JUST SAYING TRAITER WITH NO HOME!

I have looked at other causes you support. They seem worthwhile so I wonder why human lives arent as important to you as animals? The US sends billions and many americans share their personal funds to help those in poverty, sickness, and disaster in many countries around the globe. It is sad that in the country you live in you can't support your fellow man. I eill pray for the many injured and all the familues affected, i will pray for you also. Transformation of our planet starts with each of us caring for our fellow man.

I would have to agree. As much as I hate that we would need to donate money to pay for medial bills for citizens of the USA, we should not turn our backs on those people. We all need to be more loving as I doubt this bomb was made out of true love but stemmed from hate.

Heartless. As Ms. Cole-Brown points out, the US sends millions every time there is a disaster somewhere... and that's not just in dollars: million in supplies and medical help etc. That's ok Mr. Cameron-Daniels. Keep your money. We don't need it.

Dear Andy,

I do sympathize those who are injured daily in Afghanistan and Iraq, and acknowledge it be a tragedy.

If i might shed some light as to why I started this initiative, I would like to signify how I was personally affected by this misfortune. I was attending the Boston Marathon on Beacon Street, cheering runners on as they ran to the finish line. I went back to a friend's apartment near the street to watch the news coverage after being texted by multiple people about the bombings...

I went back to a friend's apartment near the street to watch the news coverage after being texted by multiple people about the bombings right after they happened.

Going back out into the street was probably one of the most surreal experiences of my life. I saw multiple people crying on the sidewalks, with scores of policemen and people running around, trying to scramble to make sense of what happened.

The whole ordeal was so visceral and real to me that I felt compelled to do something. I am originally from Southern California, but having stayed here for the past year, I am proud to call Boston my new home.

Someday, I will try to reach out to more people of the world, but for I will focus in helping my fellow brothers and sisters of Boston.

Please consider that the people who were injured by this catastrophe are not all medically insured - within a few months some people will receive some gaping bills that they might not be able to pay on their own.

Ultimately, it is your decision to donate, and I will respect your decision either way. Even though this specific cause isn't reaching out to other people in the world, you still are making a change in someone's life indirectly and directly.

Who cares what that asshole thinks. One of the founding cities of our country was attacked on a day that people from all over the WORLD gather there to participate in raising money for every charity you can think of! All the schools were off so there were thousands of children there. It takes someone with no soul to commit an act of terrorism like this! The victims and their families deserve all the support they can get from us!

I totally agree with you Andy. Also people who are not military at all would not understand. Dear Ashley,

I hope I didn't communicate the wrong idea; I am definitely in support of your husband and all of the other troops that are overseas right now. I was just trying to respond to Andy's question of "Who cares?" because I do.

Soldiers who sacrifice their lives for a cause greater than themselves is nothing short of admirable and inspirational. My condolences for your husband.

But in my honest opinion, I don't think we should disparage the lives of other people.

All human life is valuable.. even if you're an 8-year old boy or a Marine leading your infantry.

We don't know what either could have further contributed to the world; we as a people didn't know their dreams or their passions; the fact that both lives were taken from us makes both deaths very tragic.

Erwin it is very tragic and I'm sure Andy cares it's just that the fact of all u see on the news is stuff like the bombing or the school shooting stuff like that but do u ever see military people on the news for dying? No u don't and I see why Andy is angry I totally understand too but instead of blowin up on Andy people need to see where he comes from. And the stuff that happened in Boston is very sad and I support what you are doing Erwin I really do but for once people in the military...

Also my husband didn't die he is still alive but he is gone but I have military dads out their in Japan who are dealing with all this Korea stuff and their are a bunch who their wives had their babies while they were and are gone and have not seen their kids but if they die they won't get the respect like this that your doing. The only respect they get is from others who are in the military and not from others and that's what makes me sick. You are doing a great thing for Boston u are and I'm proud of you but has anyone ever sat their and thought bout making one of these for a military member?

In IA we help military families whenever there is a tragedy and we respect people in the military. This does not mean we should not help other people. Yes the people in Boston need our help. My granddaughter is in the military, it is a choice she made. This was not a choice to the people in Boston. Gail

Okay so I mean no disrespect in what I'm about to say. I have family and friends in the military and they deserve all the respect in the world from each and every one of us but remember military personnel sign up for service.... the people injured in Boston were there to see a sporting event. If you say you'd turn your back on Americans in need then, you are turning your back on those in the military as well. They went into service ...

While this sounds like a great cause, you don't give any idea of who's tracking the money, where it is for safe keeping until allocation, how it will be allocated, who the administrator are. I have a hard time just sending money because someone says to. More details please.

Erwin Wang

  • Canine Campus Lucinda Glenny

Dear Canine Campus,

Yes, I actually do know who is tracking the money. The Network for Good acts as an intermediary between Causes.com and the registered charity/non-profit organization to allocate funds. I will never see these funds - as soon as a substantial enough goal amount is reached, I will get in contact with the Network for Good to submit these funds to the Boston Medical Center and ensure they reach the injured.
