I am saddened that this has happened in our lifetime. May God forgive us, one and all, for our part in living through this period in time, for loved ones lost, and for not more to try harder to stop this awful and the families and loved ones left behind. time in our lives. May we all pray for the souls that lost their lives in vain,

There is seriously a foundation called freedom from religion and they go around bothering old monuments? I am sure there is something better to do with your time; get a life!

Shame on you for even thinking of removing this memorial. These men fought for our freedom and have been over looked for far to long.

What about teh non-Christians that fought? Isn't this memorial ignoring them?

Gays weren't allowed in yet, so there goes that argument. Yes Susan one signature will make a difference because it's followed by another one signature. As someone said don't forget this country was built on the backs of veterans.

Not every American is Christian. I don't care if you worship your god, but don't force others to do so under the guise of patriotism. A non-Christian can serve our country as well as any.

Esti Allina-Turnauer

I think it matters more that it honors the vets, not a particular religion. Freedom From Religion appear to be a kind of hate group from their actions. What do the VETS think about this memorial? Do THEY feels honored by it? I think that's ALL that matters.

Then remove the cross and replace it with one that doesn't favor Christianity. What's the problem with that? Do you think that non-Christian vets feel that this memorializes them?

F. PC. No more bowing down to the evil that is, Political Correctness. It's Not correct, it is undoing all that is good in our country. Why is there never Tolerance from the PC

@Julane Jazzique, tolerance would start with not erecting a Christian symbol on public property. You are confusing "political correctness" with constitutional rights.

Patrick. I'm Jewish. I tolerate the Cross because it is a symbolic meaning of Tolerance. It is intolerantance, that is dividing our country. Cloaked in PC . People who are PC, that is their religion of intolerance , must be their way, or no way. Somewhat Nazi like, since The IRS, fanatics, etc will go after you. Our Countries heritage is based on Judeo/ Christian values. Our Constitution was written to also gaurd those values.

So? Your point was lost when you evoked Godwin's Law and ran off on some incoherent non sequitur about the IRS. If you take a moment to review your own history, you will quickly realize tolerance is not a word one would associate with Christianity.

When leaders and People use their religions as power over people, like The Religion Of PC. Christianty is Based on A Jewish Teacher, whom some call the Messiah. His teachings never included what people have done in Jesus name. That is people doing that. Governments, people, doing that. The IRS was an example of how the intolerant use their power to decimate those of a differing view. No Tolerance. I'm curious, since you bring up long ago history of evil done upon humans in the name of...

Why do you PC types not bring up the present time horror done to woman ,children, animals in the name of Islam? How come you keep quiet about those Present time atrocities , yet gather like jackels against long ago events done in the name of Christianty. See, the PC religion is very hypocritical.

It's not a big or fancy memorial, but it does belong to the 58,282 service men and women who gave up all their tomorrow for your today's it also belongs to 303,644 who were wounded and let's not forget the 1,652 MIA's who still remain there where about unknown and don't forget about their families who have suffered for years without an accounting of their husbands, fathers, brothers and friends last but certainly not least the 779 POW's who suffered years of torture and torment at the hands of their enemy at the Hanoi Hilton and other POW prisons and stayed true to their brothers in arms through a living Hell. But to some that does not matter, the only thing that matters to them is that this Memorial has a Cross on it and they find it offensive, let me ask you something if someone tried to take a cross off your loved one's final resting place would you allow it or would you fight? So let's fight for those who died giving us the right, we are still Americans are we not. Please share and email and don't forget to click on the link and sign the petition.

I'd fight for any veteran that has a cross or any other symbol requested on their final resting place. Nam is getting it again and it truly pisses me off! If offended, these idiots can look away from the cross!

AMEN Sandy, When is our Govt. both local and Fed. going to stand up to this anti Christ trash that is telling us we can't have crosses on anything military. My blood pressure goes radical when I read about this trash. They may start a revolution!!!! I guarantee, believer or not, Every knee will bow in judgement before our Lord. Stand up Christians for our God and our vets....

As one of the people who built this memorial and vet, It means alot more to us than it does them.... the military has used a cross to mark the graves of fallen soldiers for many years and is to honor the dead more than to honor Christ.. to Honor Christ is up to each individual.

Thanks for sharing this, Robert Gootz. I have signed the petition, shared the link on my walll, and encouraged my fb friends to do the same. We must stand up against this so-called Freedom FROM Religion Foundation, en mass, any time they show up anywhere. Resist, nullify and expose!

Sandy V: "I'd fight for any veteran that has a cross or any other symbol requested on their final resting place." So would I! That would be their right. But this is not a grave. This is a memorial on public property, and the cross doesn't represent all who fought. I believe they ALL deserve honor and thanks. Not only the Christians.

Glenna, it was vets that filed this petition. You are assuming all vets want this religious display on public property. Being "unappreciated" and removing a constitutional violation from a public park are two unrelated events.

Mr Quinn should spend his time making his comments on one of the Non-Christian, non-Cross believing sites. Obviously they are not appreciated or shared on this "Save the Monument with the Cross" for OUR veterans. I would guarantee there are very MANY more vets believing and thanking GOD to this day and everything that Cross represents as opposed to those he referred to.
