Know exactly how you feel. I'm 58. Obtained a loan 10 years ago to get just an associates degree. My job took me away from college and I never finished. I am not eligible for a promotion now because I have no degree!!! I cannot afford to pay my debt, just not even living!!

Banks should be ashamed of themselves. They will be the death of me. Just let mu daughter persue her dreams.

When I graduated from high school in 2003, it seemed like the right thing to do was go to college, my family didn't save money for me, and just turning 18 getting a student loan didn't sound bad at all! If I could go back in time I would not of got a loan for school! I pay almost $500 a month! I just bought my first house but it was so hard to get here and with m new home bills it makes me even more mad hearing that they are considering a new tax on oil and propane for heating a house!...

Between student loans and oil I'm at almost $1000 a month! I work my butt off and my student loans never get any lower, it's depressing! Student loans shouldn't even exist. So many good paying jobs require college degrees but by the time you pay your loans your hourly salary Is that of Someone who didn't go to college, so whats the point!

Ok so if I divorce they won't count our spousal income so it might get payment lower for us both , but I can't keep my work hrs. Being single with 3 kids so ill have to get on welfare & food stamps cuz I can't afford child care,

Let's get OUR bail out. But the home owners did not get their's either...so I doubt we will see such a thing. I think it will be impossible because those who did pay for their own college or their kids will resent other getting a bail out, at least that I would expect from conservatives...even though the price of secondary schooling keeps escalating...I personally wish we would invest in secondary education, especially for doctors, nurses and mental health care providers I hear we need so...

I am 62 years old and I am still paying on loans. I expect to go to my grave with this debt, since they will look for payment, even when I am on Social Security.

My fiance can't work due to the war; some of his disability money is taken due to student loans. I'm disabled and can't afford to risk taking out a loan to pay for school, to perhaps better my situation.
