It is a travesty what the government is doing. I thought we were supposed to be looking out for our own people in this country, those who worked hard for years, paid taxes, and now find themselves fighting for assistance just to get their lives back to normal. Our politicians should be ashamed of.themselves! Injustice all around us! Shameful and disgusting! SMH!
Please take and support the pledge as I'm a sandy Person with the task of rebuilding my life have gone through all my savings insurance sucks and I'm coming to the end of my financial and mental rope.. But I'm determined to recover... Any help would go such a long way
I have witnessed the devastation in Long beach and know that the people affected by this are hardworking taxpayint citizens who need a helping hand to get back on their feet. Deferring the mortgage payments for one year would not deprive the banks of their money in the long term but would be a tremendous help for the victims of Sandy in the short term. The banks need to step up to the plate on this.
I believe that this petition should be followed. America helps other countries (even our enemies) we must help our own people at this time, when they need their country to stand up for them.
Take the pledge! JP.
I take the pledge were is Obama now.
We help everyone else. We have do every thing in our power to help! where is their insurance money .cut the interest ,some thing has to be done!
Instead of "If the banks don't agree the government should set up a fund to give interest free loans with the sole purpose of paying the mortgages for one year", it should read "Any bank that refuses a request from a bonafide victim will have the rate they pay for the money they borrow from the FED raised by 1.5% to support a fund to provide 0% interest loans to to the victims to pay their mortgages for one year."...This to cause punitive damages on those banks.
That would be a wonderful idea and extremely helpful
