Wolves are being needlessly slaughtered because people are totally ignorant of the fact that they play a crucial role in the ecosystem by keeping deer, elk, moose herds etc. healthy by preying only on the sick, weak and lame.Unlike human sport hunters, wolves would never go after a trophy deer etc. because they can be very deadly with their hooves when fending off an attack. If people took it upon themselves to read up on the truth about wolves they would most certainly give up believing the old wives tales and misconceptions about them. There has never been a documented wolf attack on a human in North America since the early European settlers came here.People are too lazy to take the time educate themselves on the topic of wolves, either that or they're afraid to find out the truth, knowing that they'd then have to give up their enjoyment of killing them. It's a sad fact of life but there are a large number of hunters who actually enjoy killing as a sport, I've seen it many times here in Newfoundland where rich hunters, from the U.S. mostly, come here to shoot trophy moose and caribou and just cutting off the head or the rack to put over their fireplace as something to brag about while they leave the rest of the animal where it fell to rot away.People like that are the ones who are killing the wolves solely for sport and they couldn't care less about the ethical issues around the killing.

I think that way about all animals. Bugs, worms, spiders snakes. It is the human that should leave no trace. Please go to Sand Valley Center and like our page, we are dedicated to making changes for the animals, humans and Planet...join us in our community.

Guess we (the government) could have saved a LOT of money if we had not paid out all that money ( govt. trappers, poisons, etc ) to exterminate in the first place!

I don't know anymore, man has decleared war on animals! I wish wild animals were afraid of man. This would stop most of the abuse if they could just run or hide when man comes around.

the balance of nature is perfectly timed and all the creatures are needed. Interfere with nature at your peril!
