I've been a dedicated and faithful Whole Foods shopper for many years. They are more expensive than other stores, but I've always felt that their organic foods are worth it. I'm completely shocked that Whole Foods will sell GMO foods to begin with, since these foods have potentially disastrous effects on the environment and medical science has no idea what health problems we may develop from eating them, especially long-term. I'm completely shocked that Whole Foods will sell GMO foods to begin with, since these foods have potentially disastrous effects on the environment and medical science has no idea what health problems we may develop from eating them, especially long-term. But given that Whole Foods has uncharacteristically chosen to sell GMO-based foods, they must take an early and clear position on labeling them. I shop at Whole Foods to support a healthy environment and my own health. I want the option to avoid GMO-based foods, starting when Whole Foods begins selling them in their stores.

Actually article and author, don't blame whole foods. Something you should know is that the problem doesn't start with them. The blame is on the fda/government for NOT REQUIRING food companies and distributors to label if gmo is used in the product or not. So basically, stores and companies that sell those products have to take the distributor's word on if gmo is used or not. So with whole foods, I like the fact that they're doing all they can to enforce it in their company by doing a system...

So with whole foods, I like the fact that they're doing all they can to enforce it in their company by doing a system overhaul over the next few years where if every single product's company they carry doesn't comply on labeling if gmo is contained or not, whole foods is going to refuse to sell it then. FDA needs to get their s@! straight on food producers labeling, it's not on the actual grocery stores.

I am sick of being pushed around and lied to constantly by rich a--holes who only care about the profits they can make. We never had to worry so much when the food we ate was grown in this country. I agree with Rick C Moore because it is up to us to buy and eat what is good for us. Read labels and decide who you really want to support. Peace

As dedicated Whole Foods shopper this would be a real help to me and others who are trying to avoid consuming and using GMO foods and products. The Good Earth in Fairfax, CA (Marin County) is doing this year. I and a lot of folks will be shopping at Co-ops and small health stores that will be adopting these practices. Whole Foods should not be waiting, this is an extreme market advantage, not to speak of it the right thing to do!

It's clear that no matter what Whole Foods does or how far they go in their efforts to change the face of supermarkets all over the world for the better, they will never be doing enough for you people. It's clear that no matter what Whole Foods does or how far they go in their efforts to change the face of supermarkets all over the world for the better, they will never be doing enough for you people. This corporation is part of the reason most of you people have any awareness of the terrible things that are being put into our food in the first place. You have no idea what it takes to research each and every ingredient that each and every product contains all the way back to the seed that grew it. To do this for millions of products and then demand that those vendors spend money and put their necks out to label their products, most likely taking a substantial hit in sales, is no easy thing to do. If you think this could be accomplished in two years (one person said 'one month') you live in LA-LA-LAND and should come back to reality. How about appreciating and supporting a company that puts so much money and effort into something as game changing as this instead of continuing what I see all the time... Calling it out as not good enough, as if they haven't changed the world already.

A French study done with rats, who were given GMO food for 90 days showed the rats were growing tumors as big as a third of their bodies.

Please revise this petition to require non-GMO and GMO labeling NOW, this year 2013! ASAP and I would like to see all stores follow this labeling responsibility example.
