Tried in UK and a BIG TIME FAILURE! the cynical PB folks would put green tags on their dogs who would then get close and attack the smaller more vulnerable dogs. ANd the PB owners here in the states are just as bad and even worse. Each dog owner has to be alert to the changes and the moods and behaviours of their own dogs at ALL TIMES and not rely on these codes... DON"T DO IT... this is a very very very BAD IDEA.

As a dog trainer, I LOVE this idea. For those that are saying they don't work... well, that is owner error. I have a very friendly, well-socialized male Rhodesian Ridgeback (in tact) who I use as a demo dog and gets on well with other dogs. He has been bit 3 times. 2 of those times were at dog parks where irresponsible owners in denial of their dog't temperament allowed reactive dogs to just charge into the run without a care. These were 'friendly' dogs that had bitten a few dogs in the park over time, as I found out later. This is a person that is not going to bother buying a any of these products. But from my perspective, you should use caution in ANY new dog greetings, no matter what collar they are wearing or what the owner says.
But for those responsible owners who KNOW they have a nervous dog or a reactive dog, this is awesome!
This is NOT cure to the identification issues, but an aid. If you own a dog or are going to interact with them, educate yourself on their body language and NEVER rely on what the owner says right off. Note the dog's body language and know the signs.
But these wonderful products would definitely help identify the responsible owners who know their dogs.
And remember... even Pit Bulls don't attack for 'no reason'. They perceive a threat and show signs like all dogs. Unfortunately, we humans tend to miss the signs.
