So very sad Debbie but I have a question. What was this pet doing chained outside in East TN (Morristown) on a Thursday in March? Why would these owners who chain a dog outside in the winter and wasn't there snow on Thursday there? I don't know. Perhaps she had a dog house and protection...I don't know. But when a dog is left exposed to the elements and where someone can come along and simply take them sends a message too!

Horrible. I can't imagine the pain to all involved. My babies live inside because they are my family.

Amanda I chain my dog outside long enough for him to go to the bathroom, just because someone chains their dog for 15-20 mins. doesn't make them a bad owner. It's sad that people would do this to anything, If they can do it to an animal they can do it to a person they need to be caught and punished. I aree with throwing them out the window an eye for an eye sounds good to me.

Amanda Pierce Bruscella they left and went out and left her chained. Also she is not spayed and they have commented about having one of her puppies. cruel is also leaving a female outside chained when population is an issue in the U.S. where pets are concerned. I have used a tie out for my dogs when my fence was not yet up, but never would i leave them outside in the yard fenced or chained and leave the property. i live in Ontario and not in winter nor summer are they left.

Thank you for stating the obvious, which I too mentioned in my comment. First of all, why would you chain your dog? If it's for 15-20 minutes for the dog to go to the do its business, it's one thing, but I think this was an all day thing. Also, the weather can be either too hot or too cold. And...besides HUMAN predators, there are wild animals everywhere ~ even where I live ~ smack in the middle of the city. Your pet should be protected like you children. I feel extremely sad for Molly,...

I feel extremely sad for Molly, that she had to face such cruelty. I hope to God they find these monsters and hopefully punish them severely, though it seems the laws are too relaxed when it comes to animal abusers. That's why, human parents need to keep take the precautionary measures. Again, thank you for your comment.

Lesson - never leave a dog chained outside! I hope they don't leave her puppy chained outside - chains are for criminals, not pets you love and say are "family".

I do Yorkie Rescue in Texas. I understand that I am dealing with small dogs that hawks could grab easily but then even large dogs are not safe especially chained outside. I do not feel that these people are bad and do feel for them that they lost their beloved pet. I do feel that perhaps they should have been informed of the dangers of chaining a dog outside when not home and in the importance of spaying and neutering our pets. If someone does not have a fenced yard and has to tie them...

I do not feel that these people are bad and do feel for them that they lost their beloved pet. I do feel that perhaps they should have been informed of the dangers of chaining a dog outside when not home and in the importance of spaying and neutering our pets. If someone does not have a fenced yard and has to tie them outside to potty, they should at least be out there with them. Being in rescue, I hear all the sad stories about lost dogs. People call me crying wanting another dog because their well trained dog that never leaves the property has been killed by a car. The owners also made a remark that the dog was a neighborhood dog, loved by everyone. If she was allowed to run the neighborhood at times, (which I am not sure about that) then, there is a possibility that not all neighbors loved her. It is a very sad situation and I hope they catch the person that did this cruel thing to Molly.

Does anyone know how and from where the dog was taken? Why was Molly in a vulnerable place/situation to be able to be taken in the first place? And then driven in someones car and thrown from it...it is an atrocious and heinous thing to do, hateful and evil. I am just feeling like the story has holes in it and would like more details.
I am very sorry for the family for the loss of Molly. God bless you in this time of pain.

I had to post this because that beautiful Molly looks just like my Anny dog who has been the most loyal, well behaved, non-aggressive, and loving animal on earth. There is a special place in hell for people that do such things.

That's been a fantasy of mine since I was a child. Whatever cruelty the abuser inflicts on an animal should be inflicted on on the abuser in the proper proportion

Yep.

Laura Briskman-Ferguson

The person(s) who are responsible should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, As easy as it was to toss this poor girl out of the window of a speeding car, she could have been brought to her local animal shelter to find a new home...and a new life. May the one responsible for this heinous act get what is coming to you! We (supporters of Molly) are out there and will find you!

The mongrels that did this deserve the same fate. Throw the bastards from a very fast moving car. What's good for one is good for the other.

Dogs, cats and other animals should not be viewed as mere property when it comes to crimes committed against them. If anyone hurt my dog they would get a very different penalty from me than they would if they bumped into my car.
