Thankful for being asked to sign this petition.Much of the decision who can stay or go belongs directly on the shoulders of this nation. I for one would be glad to go back to when the only thing that mattered is that an elder can look at your actions or your words & know who you are.

Many of the Natives on the Reservations don't realize many left so that there would be more rations for the ones staying. There is very little work and this also lets others have a chance to work too. Banishing people from the rez is not right as many have helped and should never be treated differently.

Dissenrollment is all about Greed. The ones in office are kicking out their own Tribal Members so whatever income the Tribe is making, is larger for those remaining. And it's also a form of genocide. Our Tribes need to get Larger, not smaller!

The Tribes that are not educated in White mans laws are falling behind. One of my family members was in law school just a couple years ago and in her Native law class the Prof told the class that when there is no longer a Tribe everything goes back to the US Gov.When the Tribes follow the white mans rule of 1/4 blood and when all 1/4 blood are gone then you no longer have members and if your following the recent lawsuit settlement like the Cobell lawsuit you will see the US Gov trying to by...

The Tribes that are not educated in White mans laws are falling behind. One of my family members was in law school just a couple years ago and in her Native law class the Prof told the class that when there is no longer a Tribe everything goes back to the US Gov.When the Tribes follow the white mans rule of 1/4 blood and when all 1/4 blood are gone then you no longer have members and if your following the recent lawsuit settlement like the Cobell lawsuit you will see the US Gov trying to by back fractionated lands from the Natives because the US Gov. doesn't know how to do math. The Tribes think they are going to own the land if the US Gov. buys it. They don't read the fine print and the US Gov. will still own the lands. So when all the lands are bought up and you no longer have members....YOUR NO LONGER A TRIBE! I am starting a new group that will help bring all Natives no matter what blood you have as they will out number the Tribes put together. There are many on the Reservations that are upset with Tribal Leaders and they too are wanting a new group that will be for the people. If anyone is interested please send me a facebook friend request or e-mail at uspresident [email protected].... If any of you have not checked out the website....doi.gov/ost......this is the list of WAU or whereabouts unknown Native Americans with over 100,000 name listed and some as far back as 1850. So if you are still trying to prove blood quantum this website can possibly help!

Gerald, I have friend requested you. I want to note that you are absolutely right about the Land Processing with the Federal Government. Trust lands....our tribes are getting offers like crazy to put our land into Government Trust, another way to lose our lands.

I want to thank everyone that has signed and Shared this petition! So far in the United States there have been 11,000 + Tribal Members that have been Banished/Dissenrolled from their Tribes. Mostly for unlegal, greedy reasons by their Tribe. I want to setup a Checks and Balance System for all Tribes to make sure Tribal Members are treated equally and fairly. If a Tribe Dissenrolls a Member, it must be for a legal, valid reason and not for a flimsy, greedy, immature reason. Alot of Tribes...

Alot of Tribes with Casinos or those recieving Non-Gaming funds from their state, are cutting out Members from their Tribes so the remainder of Members receive a larger amount of earnings from the Casino. There has been a flagrant disconcern of Tribal Members Rights....And....possible illegal loss of income from the Casinos that the former Tribal Member has pertaining to OWNERSHIP of her/his share of the Tribes' Casino!

disenrollment means: "expungement from one's trbe" correct?...if that is the case, then how is it possible to be expunged or disowned by and/or from something which one is naturally a part of...it all seems a bit synthetic to me almost as though one is being excommunicated from the catholic church...please elaborate! thank yoU! :)

Dissenrollment does not mean that a person is no longer a Native American. It just means that there was a decision that that person can no longer be a Member of the Tribe he/she has been enrolled in. Some people are eligable to enroll in another tribe and some aren't. It has to do with their family history, and what tribe their parents and or grandparents were in. For those people that are eligable to only be a part of the one tribe they were enrolled in, it is especially hard to get...

For those people that are eligable to only be a part of the one tribe they were enrolled in, it is especially hard to get dissenrolled. Feelings of dispair, dissappointment and depression are common feelings for those that have been dissenrolled.

What % of your bloodline. For instances, Full-Blooded, 1/2, 1/4, 1/16. Most tribes have a certain criteria for establishing tribal enrollment.

Anastacia Zapatecas what will happen ten generations from now will everybody have to marry their cousins to keep the bloodline thick enough to be considered a tribal member
I get why it matters I also think we would be limiting the tribe from exsisting.

Terresa Melendrez

Anastatia, Most tribes these days go by Lineal Descent and require Tribal Members to be related to at least one out of four or five Original Tribal Members when their Tribe was first recognized by the Federal Government. I do not agree with Blood Quantum. That's a form of Genocide to me. For instance, what if you are 1/2 Pomo and half Sioux? Your Tribe can legally only count the Pomo, if the Tribe is Pomo and say you are only 1/2 Native. When really, you're full blooded Native.
