I think they should work for minimum wage for the rest of their term-see how they like it and forget retirement benefits!

every elected official should automatically have to take a cut in pay and benefits until there is no longer a deficit. We do and they work FOR us!!!

Not a bad idea. They are, for the most part, out of touch with the rest of us. Pehaps they need to go to work in soup kitchens, homeless shelters etc. for more than a few hours. Their greed has broken this country down.

It is about time our congress has to live with the conditions they create with their policies they create. It is an untenable condition for the rest of us and the US can not afford being that liberal with their benefits. All of the top governement officials shoud take a 20% across the board paycut.

Most of these people have other jobs, that pay just as much if not more. Put them on an Hourly pay. when they are working for us they should get paid, when they are working there other jobs, let them pay. Why should we pick up the entire bill for there second house, third car, vacation. lets put then in our situation and see how they like it.

I am a 15 year veteran teacher working at the pay rate of a 12 year teacher. Do you think congress would line to work in conditions like that? I do it because I love my kids, not for the money!!!! Wake up America, stop voting for those who vote themselves a raise while you can't afford groceries!

All is fair in love and war! We love or country but are at war with our congress, and the Pres., vice Pres. Why should we pay them for life? Let them have the same S.S. as everyone in the U.S.. Let them live on a budget as we do!

I agree whole heartly with everyone. It's not right the amount of money they make to sit there and argue all the time about everything and not make the right decisions on things that impact the people of the USA.

All I would like to know is once they are out of there Gov't office when there term is up, WHY ARE WE STILL PAYING THEM A SALARY? And paying for there INS. They don't pay me for what I did in the service or pay for my Ins.. Since I have been out. And they want to know where all the money is.
