Viva gli animali non gli umani...!

I don't know what more beneficial information we need to know about sharks in this century as researches have been done for many years! I find these so called researches are unnecessary and are just an excuse to kill and brutalise these innocent beings. Please use your money to find more sustainable sources for food on land that does not involve brutalising and killing more animals. Mankind lusts and thirst for killing defenceless animals never seems to stop!

Indeed, we have failed to act on the knowledge we already have. Why should anyone believe more data will result in different results? We know where sharks congregate, we know where the poachers are, we know where the longliners are. Nothing has been done to stop it.

Some nations cannot wean themselves off from consuming shark fins because they are nothing but vile brutal sick people who uses the evil of money to continue with their repulsive ignorant feed frenzy. These are people of no substance, no human decency and no values, they are just simple evil, disgusting beings that falls short of what decent human being means! They would eat anything that moves with no dam care for their suffering. What is even more sickening are the restaurants who perpetuate is cruelty by providing it! Shameful blood money!

Signed and shared! There is just no winning with Humans! From idiotic research facilities, dodgy rangers, swindling activists and charitable organisations that have a 90% administrative fee structure, the list just goes on. It is so challenging to pick out the genuine!

I haven't seen this TV program referred to, but it does seem like a barbaric, and sensationalist process of shark wrangling for money and fame. Geeesh what people won't do for their 15 mins.

I'm sure there are better procedures for luring a shark in close to the boat and then netting and getting samples or affixing tags in a better manner than what is displayed here. There should not be some huge profit motive behind anyone doing research.

Is this any better than the Japanese whalers that...

Is this any better than the Japanese whalers that stencil letters on their ships that claim that they are a "Research" Vessel? Who are you trying to fool?

Where are the pictures of the fins damaged and where are the pictures of the jaws that have been damaged?

Awful, stop shark finning, abuses of all sort on these animals and others, research has to be done without hurting...

It is imperative that we learn more about sharks, but all research must be done in a humane, painless and stress-free way, not like this.

Guys thank you for signing. Skyler Thomas thank you for this petition.
We cannot continue to accept the dramatisation of hunting and landing of these magnificent and protected apex predators.
Nor allow this tracking data (exposing migration routes/aggregation areas) to be publicised.
Never mind the brutal tagging methodology.
It is unacceptable in this day and age, and the scientists? who bow down, and go for the limelight or the cash.. should be ashamed of themselves.

It is unacceptable in this day and age, and the scientists? who bow down, and go for the limelight or the cash.. should be ashamed of themselves.
I believe (in the future), their (scientists) credibility will be shot, their data questionable, and their messages muddied.
They cannot call themselves conservationists when they partake in this project. Granted, many don't, when pushed they say "it is not up to us to protect the animals".. however, they always work under the guise of "conservation" when applying for permits (as they did in SA) a year later and we are losing those animals.
1 killed during the project, 2 dragged alongside the boat to revive them, 2 confirmed in Mozambique, 1 confirmed in KZN on a Sharks Board drum-line. and SO VERY MANY "failed" tags?
FAILED TAGS or DEAD SHARKS... they brag about the SPOT tags lasting for 5 years, bolted into the dorsal fins... so I think the latter. DEAD SHARKS.. how many more will they kill, maim, injure before the media recognise that this is archaic and unacceptable. how many more protected sharks will be hunted under the guise of research, how many more channels are going to drop them (History and Nat Geo already did)!
