Such a shame on individuals entrusted with the duties of making fair judicial calls. I did not know the young man personally, howerver I followed the issue and anticipated him being sent to a mental institution based on his condition....shame shame shame.

If it is proven that he is psychotic, the system should release him to the proper Institution for treatment .

Jamaica has ignored mental illness for far too long, in the mean time, those who act out due to mental illness, are thrown in jail. Yes crime is wrong, but everyone should be analysed to determine the level of sanity. If found off balance, they then deserve treatment before we decide that they are not worthy of being a part of society. Many many are free despite the horrendous crimes they have committed, with their SOUND MINDS! So this young man deserves a chance at a controlled, medicated, stable & safe life...it is possible!

When one is diagnose with mental illness it is the duty of society to work with such person so that they can become whole, Not prison, they do not have the facility to help.

Why is this young man in jail. he needs help, he has a mental issue and should be treated has such.

An unpaid interested group comprised of persons from 'all walks' should have long been set up to investigate and report on all such cases (with a must-meet timeline of urgency in completion of course). The powers that be ought to become invested in getting them the appropriate assistance. It's not that hard! (Pay them and they get lazy an 'tief' on taxpayers dimes!').

I have been a victim of injustice stemming 42 years upto the present day, and have just come off an hunger strike concerning police conspiracies, and human rights are everbodies rights, but the judicial system is a criminal organisation against the innocent, so we at http://www.tomthumb.info/tt/ Always support petitions to free the innocent ffrom false incarceration, yours Tom Thumb and friends.Thank you.
