when is this madness going to stop? why do people think of a dog bites someone they should have to die?
maybe the person did something to the dog to provoke him. years ago when a dog bit a kid or anyone they were not sentenced to die. did the bite break the skin? get serious please! people think this is the only answer.IT IS NOT!

Actually the bite did break the skin, to the tune of 400 stitches. By the time I was 4 my parents had taught me not to run up to any dog like that even if I knew them. Dogs startle! I also learned not to put my face near an animal's face or paws, not to yell or hit them, not to pull tails, clobber them with things, etc. Even adults do this now days and are surprised at the result. Stupid people!

I agree Laurie, they have to stop the madness which is just what it is. Kids can be awful to animals and we don't know if that was the case at all. Anyway, the fact that they want to put this dog down is just stupid. Sorry about the language.

I think most dog owners more or less knew about frightening a dog in it sleep.
Everytime my little niece came over my place, I have to tell her not to be too excited in front of a dog, even my own dog who dote on my little niece very much.
You never know when a dog might feel sick, or feeling pain that might make it snap back. Irregardless of how friendly it is.

THIS IS JUST UNCALLED FOR! FIRST THING A HUMAN SAYS IS PUT THE DOG DOWN! STOP THIS MADNESS PLEASE SAVE MILO FROM DEATH...THIS DOG DOESN'T HAVE TO DIE...

Situation: dog sleeping on the couch, child does something, dog bites child...child lives to learn NOT TO POKE AT A DOG WHILE IT IS SLEEPING! I can see something like the boy stuck his finger in the dog's nose, or ear, or eye...resulting in the dog biting. This is NOT a dangerous dog, it is a dangerous child! And were was the babysitter? Kill her, put her down for negligence.

Tonia Vassila

Don't blame Milo but the babysitter, she is responsible for the little child and his parents too, who have chosen the specific person for this very difficult job, taking cara of a child. My strong, very strong, conviction is that parents are irresponsible and other creatures have to pay their irresponsibility.

Even if the child did "nothing" he should have been taught not to just run up to any dog...regardless of if you know it or not. You always have to be cautious because dogs can easily forget who someone is after so long. Dogs scare too! Dont put the poor thing to death. 1 incident and no real truth to really know what happened shouldnt result in putting the poor dog down.

Humans kill, rape, molest and torture everyday yet an animal bites and everyone jumps to get rid of the "predator". Humans are the biggest predator on the face of the earth and NOTHING is done. We really need to start evolving!

I am so sick of animals being put to death because they bit someone! They are humans that assault, maim & kill other humans & they DO NOT ALWAYS get put to death!
