In Hawaii the grassroots effort to ban plastic bags has succeeded in a county by county ban at the local level. Honolulu City Council was the last one to get on board, by 2015 ALL ISLANDS WILL HAVE PLASTIC BAG BANS in effect!
Hi well done we banned bags hete 5 yrars ago in adelaude south aus it works well nice not to have them biowing around sticking to car exhaust and adding to land fil
Please share, sign and carry your own bag when you shop.
We all should do that because in the Philippines we do carry our own grocery bags whenever we go grocery shopping it helps the environment & it saves lives of the marine life as well.. No more littering as well in the river or lakes.....as well
You don't have to live in California to appreciate this. We all live in this world and when people pollute it where they are just doesn't matter, we all suffer for it. Every little bit helps.
One way to stop the proliferation of plastic bags would be to charge for them. Just a 25 cent charge would make a lot of people remember to bring their own bags. All of this could go to help recycling projects.
Me parece muy bien esta campaña...por un Mundo mejor..Lastima en Argentina no hagan nada, solamente roban...los gobiernos...lo único que les interesa es llenarse los bolsillos...
but, they're recyclable! we save all of ours and bring them back to Stop and shop and put them in their recycle bin.
Single use plastic is recycled into waste pipes which continue to off gas these chemicals, but only into the septic systems that eventually still reach consumption.
Stop using plastic bags that kills wildlife...
not signing these stupid bag bans.....stupid reaction instead proaction....never should have been allowed to produce them to begin with. don't use them. period. but what about the produce bags still available in grocery stores that have bag bans? How about all the people getting ecoli and salmonella from their reusable bags cuz they don't wash them?? Ban those too...
We are successfuly implementing the plastic bag ban in the Philippines. We are encouraged to bring our own reusable bags to avoid having to pay extra for paper bags. At first it was not so easy: people kept forgetting to bring their own reusable bags (or were just lazy), but now, people are catching on. I hope al countries will do the same..then...maybe there is still hope to save our Mother Earth!
All waste must segregated in work site and at home disposed properly and then reused or recycle or incinerate. No non hazardous or hazardous waste must leave in the dry surface or watercourse. It's inacceptable. We must protect our environment clean for future generation and for our health. Thanks
Plant based bio-plastic that will completely compost is the solution. Recycling is a wrong message to people . You can add only 10% of recycled plastic with the virgin material the second time. It can happen only ones, otherwise the molecular structure of plastic will change and won't stay in the position it is molded. Plant based bio-plastic you will be able to recycle 100% endlesly.
It's worse than the UN is letting on. A study a few years ago by British scientists found that there is a layer of microscopic plastic beads covering the entire planet including both poles. It' s beyond disgusting - we're probably breathing these beads in every day and not even realizing it. It has to stop. Discarded plastic bags wash down the drain and eventually out to sea where they are often mistaken for jellyfish and end up in the bellies of whales and dolphins eventually killing them....

Divest yourselves of plastic - it's not that hard and it might save a life!
