anyone who hurts an animal should be put in prison.

Please let him have a chance for training and a chance to live. He is just getting a bad rep for being a pit bull. Look at that picture of him with the kitty. I don't think that is not a dangerous dog at all. Please let him have the help he needs.

as a veterinary technician for 8 years, and an assistant manager of a private shelter, I've never had any problems with pitbulls. Look at the other end of the leash......And maybe animal control should re-valuate this case AND their egos.

I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS OF THIS COMMENT , THE DOG ISN'T THE PROBLEM , IT IS THE FAULT OF THE OWNER/HUMAN! BE RESPONSIBLE AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY! IF SOMEONE TAKES THE TIME AND WORKS WITH AN ANIMAL USUALLY THEY RESPOND WELL , NO MATTER THE BREED OR SPECIES. I WOULD LOVE TO UTHANIZE PEOPLE WHO HURT ANIMALS MENTALY OR PHYSICALY.( TOO BAD IT'S AGAINST THE LAW )! IT SHOULD BE ILLEAGLE TO BE STUPID!

100% agree with Sarah, it is the owner NOT the dog, People like this make me sick, they are the problem not the animal. LET THIS DOG LIVE.

Even with the best training dog's get out sometimes. He didn't attack anyone so I'd say his training is pretty decent. I do think if you see your neighbors dog running around free the first thing you should do is call your neighbor and see if they can get them BEFORE such an extreme measure is taken. Especially with a dog as obviously sweet as this one.

He has gotten out twice, the second time a repair man let him out by accident and the neighbors called animal control. He was an excited dog and barked, but was not showing aggression. No bite record or issues with aggression at all. This is dog racism sadly... (I've been reading all about this)

My huskies get out all the time, I've had to bail them out plenty of times, and I can't count the times I found them before animal control did, or someone calls and tells me they have my well behaved dog at their house, well behaved except for the escape plans. It's ridiculous that a dog will be put down for getting out.

she just stated that a repair man let him out by accident... crappy neighbors. My close neighbors and I keep an eye out for each other. But yes, good fencing is dog owner rule #1

EXACTLY...We need say NO MORE, a dog can NOT be PUNISHED for HUMAN ERROR!

Doreen Turner-Ayres

Dogs, regardless of the breed, get in trouble because their owner has taken little to no responsibility for assuring they are socialized and loved. Shame on the owners of Dude. Please don't punish the dog for the owners mistakes.

Would be nice if many of the citified dog ignorant people would get a little educated or speak to the owner first before self-righteous hysteria is adopted. But, owners, given bias against pit types, unfortunately you have to be extra vigilant against all the people ignorant of dogs

Come on Washoe Co...you gave Daisy the Jack Russell who you yourselves deemed dangerous multiple chances and even after she was ordered to death you changed your mind. This dog deserves a chance. You owe this dog the same opportunity that you gave the other dog.... Quit basing your decisions based on breed. If someone is willing to take this dog and work with it...my question would be Why not allow it?

i absolutely agree with you, Sarah. i am so sad that he isnt even anywhere near his required signatures! i wish, like you, that it should be legal to uthenize people who harm animals because animals are uthenized because of their bad parenting! if animals can be uthenized, why not humans?

Please save Dude. He does not deserve to die. No matter what the breed is. They need to get rid of people who are not responsible for animals. Stand up and give Dude another chance.
