Bright Blessings to all my Pagan and Wiccan family out there. I watched the broadcast and seriously wanted to slap those two boys for their sheer ignorance. I have shared this petition.

This is what I sent :
To Fox News Directors and Produces and everyone concerned,
I am writing you to express my thoughts and concerns about your segment on February 17th regarding Wicca Holidays at the University of Missouri. I am just shaking my head at the idea that your host was so unprepared and basically making up stuff about a Religion they obviously know nothing about. I have watched Fox and Friends on my days off, and found the light heartedness fun, but this time they were so off the mark, I feel this needs to be corrected. News is not some idea that you heard on the street or read off a cracker box top, Wiccan's are people, they were talking about them as if they were some crazies, and it was disgraceful. (The Host on the left) actually said Halloween is the most sacred day for Wiccan's. What? Really? Then (the host on the left) goes on to say most Wiccans are middle ages twice divorced older women living in a rural area , and work as a midwife. W.T. H is that suppose to mean? When (the host on the left) said that you could see the look on (the host in the middle) face, she was quite embarrassed. (And frankly so was I).
It would be nice to for your journalist to do some research and have a segment on correcting there misguided facts.Thank you for your time,
Judy A Styres.

As a journalist and proud Wiccan I find it very degrading that these idiots who call themselves journalist would put down a religion they obviously know nohting about. Try doing some research next time, but unless you have walked the walk you can't talk the talk. Pagan and Wiccan is as old as time and I do not profess to know all there is to know. I love mother earth and she has been kind to humanity, she has fed , clothed and sheltered us since the beginning of time.To say they interviewed...

I love mother earth and she has been kind to humanity, she has fed , clothed and sheltered us since the beginning of time.To say they interviewed some Wiccan's makes them an expert lol, or to comment that it only seems to be divorced women in rural areas buring candles, what a joke. I have been Wiccan my whole life it is a part of who I am , do I do spells not as much any more, but I still follow the regilion, which to me isn't really a religion for me it is just a way of life. You disgust me with your igornance Fox News needs some new journalist, if your going to talk about a subject do your researc. Blessings and love to all my fellow Wiccans and Pagans, don't let igornance make you angry just smile because we know they have no clue.

Please correct the spelling!

"I am apart of the Wiccan/ Pagan Community..." is wrong. It needs to be "I am a part of the Wiccan/ Pagan Community...." The word "apart" means to be separated from!

Allow me to offer a thought here. Christmas is and was originally the Winter Solstice, Easter was originally the Spring equinox Beltane where tribute to the goddess Ishtar goddess of fertility was paid tribute to. Samhain was the festival of the thinning of the veil became Halloween later. the Cross of Christ was originally a 'T' which was modeled after Thor's hammer, because Jesus was actually a political prisoner of the Jewish and Roman Empire, because of his religious/political...

Allow me to offer a thought here. Christmas is and was originally the Winter Solstice, Easter was originally the Spring equinox Beltane where tribute to the goddess Ishtar goddess of fertility was paid tribute to. Samhain was the festival of the thinning of the veil became Halloween later. the Cross of Christ was originally a 'T' which was modeled after Thor's hammer, because Jesus was actually a political prisoner of the Jewish and Roman Empire, because of his religious/political attitudes. There are religions that long predate Christianity that share the same religious Icon, the Virgin birth, the son being crucified to a tree, and being reborn again.

Our Fore fathers were a collection of various belief systems, atheist, agnosticism, christian, deist and Ben Franklin was a Horus worshiper and belonged the "Hell Fires Club.' Point being this country was found of Deist principles and the freedom of religion and to follow that faith which ever one desires... for no one faith or religion to dictate to another and yet Christianity has prevalently dominated the political arena and stated how it is being oppressed.
I once was a Christian, but now I am a spiritualist. Simply put the belief that "God simply is' whatever form or shape that takes in one's own understanding. I believe in enlightened souls or spirits who come here and guide us in good conscience.
What Fox did was uncalled for and as usual bias, fear-mongering reporting with little or no fact and opinion based reporting to create hate, fear and an one sided commentary that has no place in the major media.

Let one say that about Christian or Muslim, or even the Jewish faith. Heads would be rolling. I think they owe an apology, and these reporters... if one would dare put such a title on them. I think sensationalist and bigoted reporting would be more appropriate.

P.S. My wife is a pagan and she is not a practicing mid wife in the middle of no where. She is a citizen of the United States and deserves the same respect and rights as every other citizen in the U.S. And Fox's little head patting comments demean and insult her and belittle and make trifle of what of Forefather's and their good intentions stood for. They were human so to error is to be human and judgment and good intentions always do not lead to the best results and it can be twisted to what was not intended to be.

And Pagan is not necessary a practitioner of witchcraft... it is one who follows many or a different path that the Christian community has taken the liberty, and not in the loving spirit of Jesus, I think to mark any one who is not of their particular faith. Call me silly, but I think that is a little bit arrogant and predisposed to be just a bit judgmental on their part. I believe Christ talked about removing the splinter from your own eye before judging your fellow brother and sister and to love your neighbor and enemy as do you do your own self

Do not be shocked over this. This kind of thing has been happening for years. And after being a victim of religious discrimination myself, take my word for it when I tell you that its gotten much better over the years. However, when someone or something like this comes along, it sets us back again, one step backwards instead of closer.. in the fight against religious discrimination. It is very obvious that these three reporters did not do their homework before speaking about Wicca. The information they gave, was not only incorrect, but it was degrading and belittling of our community. We are *not* "middle aged, twice divorced midwives".. or "dungeons and dragons players." Our community is very diverse. We have within our community,. many career professionals such as police officers, lawyers, doctors, nurses, the list goes on and on. I don't think they realize the things they said could be construed as "slander" and they, along with the network... could be sued for saying such things. But, because of what they've said, because of the incorrect information they've given and stated, it has made them (along with the network).. look like uneducated imbeciles. I am a Wiccan High Priestess and have been on this path for over 17 years and I know my Sacred holidays. The last time I counted, we have 8. That is a far cry from 20! We have EIGHT SABBATS. And not one of them is "more important" than the others. We do not celebrate "Halloween", that is a CHRISTIAN thing. We celebrate Samhain. And no,. it is not "more important" than any other holiday. We have TWO "emphasized" holidays. The holiday of Samhain and Beltaine are prominent and more emphasis is placed on these two holidays , but that is only because one holiday marks the Dark Half of the Year (Samhain) and the other holiday marks the Light Half of the Year (Beltaine). Again, if they had done their homework, or if they had at least known their OWN HISTORY, they would have known this.... and could have given the correct information. It is also aggravating when people like this get our religion mixed up with other paths. Wicca is not just Witchcraft, it is a RELIGION. It has a specific set of beliefs within its framework,. which "could be" viewed as a doctrine. Wiccans follow, believe and adhere to these specific beliefs. While Wicca falls under the umbrella term of "Paganism", it is not just "Pagan" in its content, either. Wicca is Pagan because we pay reverence to Nature, and because we perceive Nature as a part of our Gods and Goddesses (and/or "our Divine"). Again, if these reporters had done their homework... they would have known this.
Someone who has been within the community for a long period of time, who has had much experience in the Occult and in Wicca , experience in the community as well as experience in dealing with the media.. should be the one to speak to Fox. While indeed it is the COMMUNITY'S responsibility to step up and speak out.... it is also an area that should NOT be handled by someone who hasn't been in the path for a long period of time. Its ok to write letters, but it would be wise NOT to speak to anyone if they happen to contact you about any of this UNLESS... you've had prior experience dealing with the media. Leave that to the ones who have. And, I feel sure someone will get to it.. and have it all taken care of.
Blessings, RainDove/HPS of The Dragon and The Rose Coven of Georgia.

I am a Christian, but I have two friends who are of Wiccan faith. What these hosts did was unprofessional, ignorant, and disrespectful.
