For the record, I am not a Pagan or a Wiccan. But when I see a major news company trying to assert that one religion is any worse or any better than another, I simply can't stand idly by. Faith is about belief, not fact and what people believe is accepted by them as fact. Religion tries to answer the unanswerable questions so there are a near infinite amount of answers and until there is concrete and irrefutable evidence, ALL religions and faiths are as wrong as they are correct. All of them are hypotheses without a defining test. The chances of there being a God is equal to that of there being a Horus or a Thor. Let people believe what they want and treat the Pagans and the Wiccans like you would treat your fellow Christian, or Muslim, or Jew, or Hindu, or Buddhist. They deserve the same courtesy.

Atheist reporting in. Used to be Pagan, don't really care for it much anymore, but I hate Fox News so you have my vote!

Your intolerance to other's beliefs and ignorance of what Pagan/Wiccan is sickening. Get your facts and story correct before you go shooting your mouth off. I believe you owe the public an apology for your ignorance!

The comments by the commentators at Fox News of course reveals that these folks are both ignorant and biased if not down right hateful toward even the idea of Wiccans and or Pagans in general. Some might say that this is to be expected from this cable broadcasting station. However I think Pagans of all stripes should not only be offended but take action to voice strong outrage! We should never sit back and take this kind of abuse in the media without retaliating. Young folks in our ranks...

Shouldn't journalists do some research on topics they present? What a bunch of morons.

This is absolutely unacceptable in every way and was obviously premeditated. Personally, I don't think that a recant or an apology is enough in this case. I think that everyone at Fox News who were involved in this broadcast should be immediately terminated.

I have a Petition for a NATIONAL apology on Facebook if anyone is interested--I am also promoting this Cause Page through my profile and my Pages.

I don't know about Pagan holidays... but I know that Sabbats are the only WICCAN holidays that I personally recognize.

Yule: December 21st, the Winter Solstice. Celebration or the return/rebirth of the sun.
Candlemas: February 2nd. A fire festival during which most initiation rites take place.
The Spring Rite: March 21, the spring equinox. A celebration of fertility in man, crops, and animals.

Beltane: June 21st the midsummer festival, or summer solstice, usually a time where covens mix and mingle, learning from each other.
Autumn Equinox Rite: September 21st, a clebration of thanks for the blessings of the year. Basically it's thanksgiving.
Hallowmas: October 31st, is a clebration for the reunion of souls of the family members who have left the physical plane. We ask them to return bringing with them messages of wisdom, in exchange for offerings.

There are other's but those are the major 'holidays' that I celebrate... and I've never been married, I do NOT live in a rural area, I'm not a mid-wife, I'm not a Dungeons and Dragons player either... By the way, might I point out that you just described everyone who works for the Kansas City Rennissance Festival. Is that where you got your 'information' from, cause might I point out that most of them are athiests with nothing better to do than to make fun of everyone else who DOES have a belief system?
