Not sure why this isn't getting more play. Colleges and Universities are basically taking advantage of the poorer students and writing off their losses regularly while breaking down students who have to pay and pay and pay after graduating. THere is a trememdous discrepency here. SO?
It's not just higher education taking advantage: it is also Sallie Mae, the US govt., the collection agencies, the "credit repair" people, the lenders, the sub-lenders, the people that collections hire to find debtors, and the list goes on and on
The reality is this country is heading down facist lane in a fast and furious fashion. The ruling class could not possibly care less about students. Stop being poilite about this and get into the friggin streets and show some spunk like we did in the sixties.
I agree - tell me where to start, Joe! We are organizing... want to help?
Yeah, remember thousands of us out there protesting against the Vietnam war, and now where is everyone? Sooner or later there is going to be chaos; people are getting fed up with seeing the corruption in our civil servants, CEO's paying minimum wage and raking in millions for themselves, etc., I could go on and on. People need to stop being SHEEP, do some critical thinking and start writing letters to local, state reps., just DO SOMETHING.
My loan was payed off ,Sally Mae took my income for my tax for three year then sold it to someone so that they could collect for a while I am fed up ...
Sallies Mae does not respond to hardship requests. They need to be penalized. They are running me broke.
As you are aware, conscientious and motivated students who are sincere and willing to learn today are the highly educated and responsible employers and employees of tomorrow. In their best interest and in the best interest of their future employers please rescue the students. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
Unfotunately, more and more people are deciding to not further their education today for the main reason that they cannot afford the tuition. The answer used to be student loans. But now it has been becoming increasingly harder to pay these loans off on a timely basis, while keeping up with interest charges and other bills. I am still paying off my orginal students loans I took out when I started college roughly 6 years ago. In that time, I had to quit school for 2 years in order to work so...

But now it has been becoming increasingly harder to pay these loans off on a timely basis, while keeping up with interest charges and other bills. I am still paying off my orginal students loans I took out when I started college roughly 6 years ago. In that time, I had to quit school for 2 years in order to work so I could pay my bills. I now go to school full-time and work full-time so that I can complete my education and afford it at the same time. This is so hard to do and many are not as determined to stick with it. Since its such hard times, I have decided to not take on any more student loans for it just doesn't seem worth it in the end. My educational journey is slow going because of money issues and I am chipping away at the block, but loans just seem like a pit that sucks you in and spits you out worse for wear. We need some help here.
When the promise of an education goes unfulfilled because banks and ceo's and corporations have turned into plantation owners more intent on keeping labor enslaved... and bankruptcy is forbidden... then debt becomes the prison guard. Without the relief of bankruptcy... we have re-engaged indentured servitude and usury.
With unconscionable fee raises, bailouts, and home foreclosures, some had no choice if they wanted an education. Private loans interest rates are high. Maybe if the banks felt they could lose something, they would be better partners in America!

I've been haunted by a student loan like a cancerous sore for twenty plus years, and it won't go away, no matter how much money I send them, enough is enough!
