the new amendment that was passed in 2011 in the state of florida farm act states you can have any animal or plant etc, that is benifical to man. now this is key ---no county or city or town can interfer and you can build without permits , fines, charges , so if they try to stop you refer them to the state, the state is the only one who can stop you.
Do you know where I can find this information? Would like to get a few chickens, and would like to have all my bases covered.
i am getting a copy of it and will put it on face book, no town city or county can stop you from haveing your farm animals.
I look forward to reading the amendment. Thanks.
oh yes they can , all it takes is a city ordinance
Mareka Huitt why not get some hogs too ??if you want a farm , buy one . people don't live in town to be near hogs & chickens
WHY CAN WE HUMANS NEVER LIVE WITH ANY CREATURE GREAT OR SMALL IN HARMONY TOGETHER? THE FLAWED HUMAN LAWS DOMINATE ANIMALS OF ALL SPECIES THEIR RIGHTS TO SURVIVE THAT's WHY!
We are allowed in Australia, I have a chicken pen which I will soon have a couple of chooks soon as my pen, at least like cats & dogs they won't go & poo in other peoples yards, plus they give you eggs & are good for the garden :) X.
Your property is so beautiful..
I live in a residential with about 80 homes. I would be forced to move if each home had even two chickens. PEE-U. If you want fresh farm raised drive a few miles and support the small farmer.
My brother has chickens here in Australia and he shares his eggs with me! It's a great idea. The eggs are nicer than supermarket bought ones and my brother's family treat the hens as pets.
What is the big deal Chickens in the yard. Of course. And enjoy your nice fresh eggs every morning. Good stuff. and good for you.Aloha.
I want to have a chicken coop in my area too - can you add St Lucie county too?
It is more than wonderful to grow our own. We will be healthier. We are at risk for whatever we get from the
ssupermarkets. We all should petition for the entire State of Florida.
Bad idea in town. No matter how clean you keep they smell, & what to do with all that manure? Grew up on farm, had our own for years. Chickens belong in country.
