the new amendment that was passed in 2011 in the state of florida farm act states you can have any animal or plant etc, that is benifical to man. now this is key ---no county or city or town can interfer and you can build without permits , fines, charges , so if they try to stop you refer them to the state, the state is the only one who can stop you.
Do you know where I can find this information? Would like to get a few chickens, and would like to have all my bases covered.
i am getting a copy of it and will put it on face book, no town city or county can stop you from haveing your farm animals.
I look forward to reading the amendment. Thanks.
oh yes they can , all it takes is a city ordinance
Mareka Huitt why not get some hogs too ??if you want a farm , buy one . people don't live in town to be near hogs & chickens
I live in the country, thank god...!!! And had over 50 chickens/hens, now by myself and have 2 mini hens and one rooster, better than a battery clock... Damn he is good... O.o
and all the barn cats and hens + rooster sleep together...
for those living inside city limits, with a sizable group and in their own yard, they should have the right to have anything they want, (gov. Is full of chicken shit, is all about money $$$ they should't charge for permits...!!!! People needs the money to build a nice chicken house....!!!!!
We should rise Chiken .
I looked at this site but I did not sign this petition. I agree a person shld have the right to raise chickens if they want but I don't know how my name got on here!
Raising chickens not only benefits the environment, but organic eggs are more healthier for you. Flordia really....? GET WITH THE PROGRAM...Healthy for humans and the environment.
Hmm - seems kind of strange to me that it's acceptable to keep wild animals in possibly appalling conditions, but not domestic animals?
So after reading Marygay Chaples comment I guess this petition holds no value?
I could really climb up on my soapbox about this topic. I don't see where the government of any form can limit what domesticated pets we can keep. As long as the animal(s) are well kept and healthy, as well as posing no health and/or safety issue toward their owners or neighbors, they should have no say.
As long as everyone keeps their chicken coops clean and the animals healthy... I see nothing wrong we raised chickens and had no problems.......Michigan
Why just Lee county? Anywhere in the world!
