White Atrazine and it's effects are not disputed, there are many more issues affecting frog populations than just this issue. The links between rapid declining frog numbers and Atrazine is not so well established. Other pollutants in the environment, damage to waterway ecosystems and climate change are having a vastly larger effect.

Perhaps true Lucas, but when you consider there are 18,000 other registered pesticides in the USA, you can imagine the overall threat from pesticides that amphibians face.

But Lucas, the use of atrazine still on Tasmanian forest plantations must be contributing much to waterway ecosystem damage in Tasmania.

Humans and frogs share half our DNA. If Atrazine has proven to be harmful to frogs, imagine what affect it's having on humans. For the sake of the world's remaining frog populations, and for the health of ourselves and our children, I urge the United States Environmental Protection Agency to place a federal ban on the sale and use of Atrazine.

I don't have much hope for the EPA since it's corrupt to the core and in the pockets of criminal corporations . Europe just implemented a continent wide ban on the neonicotinoids..the nerve agent pesticides that are killing off bees and pollinators..Europe came to their senses much to dismay of the terrorist poison corporations, Bayer, Sygenta, Dow and Monsanto, but of course the EPA in the US immediately declared they would not ban those nerve agent poisons, even though they know full well...

Without pollinators in the ecology that would also be the end of food crops but the EPA would murder all of America if it meant a short term profit for their circle of thugs.

Atrazine is the most commonly detected pesticide in rainwater, groundwater and tapwater in the USA. Atrazine is one of the world's most common pesticides and tests show that it turns male frogs into females at concentrations as low as 2.5 parts per billion. More than 80 million pounds of it were used on American crops last year, and it has been in use for 50 years. Atrazine causes cancer in laboratory mammals and developmental problems in fish.

The European Union banned the harmful pesticide in 2004 but the USA lags behind. The company that produces it, Syngenta (based in Switzerland!) has $11 billion in revenues, and has a huge lobby to keep Atrazine on the market in the USA.
Frogs have been disappearing worldwide in recent years and now need your help to get Atrazine banned in the USA. Please sign the petition today and forward it to friends. Join SAVE THE FROGS! and other evenironmental groups in Washington, DC on October 12th, 2013 for the International Day of Pesticide Action, as we rally on the Mall and call for a federal ban on Atrazine.

Take one species from this planet & others are sure to follow. Every species (except humans) plays an important role.

Frogs are a "Key" species. They have been born deformed for several years now and it's from Pesticides. The decline and deformity is a sign people are involved.
