Pigs in the wild will eat meat and fish when given the chance so will chickens. I have free range chickens that are also fed an organic diet. I have seen them eat frogs, lizards, baby rats (pinkies) and a sparrow that got too close to there food. These are well fed birds but, they will hunt when they get the chance.

Pigs and chickens both eat meat...they will even eat each other if one dies.

Mostly cut and bagged salads-spring mix, spinach, etc.. the while heads of lettuc3, bunches of kale, collards, etc are usually no the the culprits. And as other have said many times wash your veggies when you get them home. A wash in the packing shed is not the same as washing everything thoroughly, spinning dry in a salad spinner and repackaging (never use the package it came it) and putting in the fridge.
Or buy local as much as possible as the food from small farms is usually cleaner than the industrial food.

I saw a show that explained why the norovirus has become more common in the U.S. We need to wash all plant foods we eat and buy first, before eating. Many grocery chains and restaurants buy foods from outside the U.S. that do not meet FDA standards. The workers that harvest the crops use the bathroom, do not wash their hands, then pick your spinach and lettuce. When eating salads at restaurants and on cruises and in foreign restaurants, it is unwise to eat anything raw that you can't confirm...

Ensure that meat products are warmed enough to kill bacteria and viruses that are sensitive to heat. Same with food grown in the U.S. Eggs and meat can
make people ill if not heated enough.are e

People do not realize what the government & the food industry are doing but they are slowly but surely trying to do away with all of us that do not conform. In the 1940's who would have thought that we would be eating food with MSG, High fructose corn syrup, GMF. The butterfly's & grasshoppers are dying? Did we ever see any one who was obese in those days especially the young children? Why let those people get away with this? STAND UP & LET THEM HEAR WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY. If we don't who...

One piece that's pretty important - know your source. I live in an area with many farms and there are a lot of good farmers out there with very good farming practices. Like every other industry, there are those who cut corners, etc. Also, I don't know why people don't think to wash their food. Perhaps they don't understand the process from harvest to market and the many, many places fruits and veggies can pick up a bug once off the farm. Heck, have you ever noticed how often people pick...

Veggie Val has nailed it correctly. The reason people get sick from spinach is due to the animal feces (Cow Shit to you) that are sprayed on them. There is so much crap being produced by our grossly over inflated, pampered and subsidized agro-industrial complex that they need all the help they can get to find something to do with their waste. That is the reason we got the Mad-Cow outbreak, feeding cows-to-cows (as Oprah Winfrey said). Almost all the diseases we have ever been introduced to...

That is the reason we got the Mad-Cow outbreak, feeding cows-to-cows (as Oprah Winfrey said). Almost all the diseases we have ever been introduced to come from exposure to animals, even AIDS (monkeys). Now it's far worse because those diseases are mutating into super-bugs thanks to the over-use of anti-biotics in animal breeding.
