We the friends and family of Tyree Wimberly are coming together to fight back and seek justice for our loved one whose life was taken from us outside of an establishment known as "Scoobies Gentlemen Club" on January 26th, 2013. This supposed place of business has posted operating hours of 4pm-12am. We don’t understand why there were still people in and out of that club on that night when it was well past 12am. We can’t help but to think if those hours were strictly enforced, just maybe this tragedy would have never happened to our loved one and we would not be saying our goodbyes to him on February 3, 2013 at his funeral. We would still be able to see him and have opportunities to have a conversation with him, his mom and brother and sisters would get to hug him again, but we don’t get to do that anymore, due to someone coming out of that club after hours and killing our innocent friend. Due to that Tyree will not get to see his 2 month old son grow up, he won’t get to experience all the good and bad moments with his son and fiancé. He won’t get to be there for all his sons 1st: His first words, his first birthday, his first job, his first girlfriend, his first anything. Tyree was a good caring man with a warm heart and trying to make a change in his life for the better, so that he could support his family. All that came to an end on January 26th, 2013 because of a person coming out of the club decided to kill because Tyree didn’t want the marijuana that was being forced on him. On that day Tyree took 2 bullets to the chest, one to the heart and one to the lungs. Our hearts are broken. After Tyree was shot he laid in his friends arms on the cold ground right outside the club as he bled, his last words to his friend were "I'm shot, call 911" he was transported to St. Luke’s hospital where his family watched him take his final breathes and slowly drifted off, Tyree was pronounced dead at 3:40am. So we are asking that something be done about that place, it has closed and re-opened so many times over the years. It should just stay closed for good. That place has been the scene to drugs and robberies and many other activities over the years, now it can add murder to that list. We don’t see that place getting better anytime soon. When we ask for something to be done, we don’t mean shut it down then re-open it under a different name a few months later, we mean never open it again. Maybe put a little sitting area there with some benches and flowers; make it a place to bring together Allentown and Bethlehem. No one wants a strip club bringing the cities together, so please help us get justice for our loved one. Please take this into consideration and help us get closure for our loved one who was taken too soon. Please don’t just ignore us, wouldn’t you want something done if you were in the same situation or would you just allow it to pass you by and have this possibly happen to someone else’s family, don’t make another family have to plan their loved ones funeral.
the next petition should be for fundraising money for a memorial park in tyrees name. Put plants there a few benches with his name engraved in them just a decent place in memory of such an amazing person who was taken way too soon!!
You can find petition at http://www.causes.com
Vote to close Scoobies Strip Club! http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/lehigh-county/index.ssf/2013/02/residents_fighting_to_shutter.html
As long as I've been around that place is a shit hole.
looks like a place that needs to go dwn!
I will gladly sign this petition but that will not stop someone else from buying the property and turning it into another strip club and the same things will continue. Unless, that is, all of you locals pool your money, purchase the property, level the building, and turn it into a parking lot.
There is a daycare down the street and I only live a few blocks away!this place needs to shutdown cuz who knows what else can happen so lets try to prevent it! If this place wasn't open it wouldn't have "thugs" hanging around it and guy would still be alive! Its a shame that he was doing the right thing and died because of it! Smh
Neighborhood full of children ppl who don't know our neighborhood should know we r more than friends its family for the most i have a lil bro i cant even imagine something like this r.i.p ty we love u justice will be served
Well ss the rest of my community i lived here 20+ yrs think about everytime they make this building a strip club it gets shut down its a quiet place y would we let anything ruin it. I just happen to go by there 10 min after it happened scary feeling.people have the nerves to judge a person they didnt even know. That desperate to see naked women not realizing what happened. Its called a girlfriend she can dance in private.point being its not the spot for all this foolishness i have kids
Everyone posting on this is a local in the community and has driven past it one time or another. For the gentleman at the bottom, I would like to say that if this was your family, friend, co-worker, uncle, cousin, brother, etc would you sign it? I'm sure your answer would be yes. This establishment is trashy. It degrades women who have to walk around in close to nothing clothing because most likely need the money for one reason or another. From what I've heard Scoobies has security. Where...
Where were they? Why were there people in the club past 12? The owner of this establishment either okay-ed what was going on , or is completely naiive and not running his business correctly. The fact that Ty, a good hearted amazing person, was just walking by this trash hole of a place and was shot by some insane drug dealer is reason enough to shut this place down. He did not deserve this nor does anyone else. Also someone posted on my fb about how this petition is bad karma and that I and others who are signing this petition are ruining the owners life by taking his business away from him and ruining his family. This isn't about ruining his life, family, or whatever. This is to stop the violence put an end to people walking in and out of that place with who knows what on them. This is to put an end to all the smashed beer bottles, screaming, and drunk idiots falling around in home owners yard's near by. This is to put an end to endless amount of car accidents that happen around that building because it is at such a bad location. But most of all, the reason we are all signing this, is for some type of justice for Tyree where he was shot at.The man who did this will be found and justice will prevail. The kind amazing person that touched each and everyone of our lives one way or another, in a big way or a small way. He will always be remembered, with or without Scoobies there, but hopefully our city and community will see what trouble that place is and do the right thing. RIP Tyree Wimberly.
People have lost a coworker. A tagger ect. He was such a good person he was doing good with his life.people in the area are affraid to even walk alone at night around the area.reguardless rest easy ty but this could have been ANYONE the person who did it was clearly careless. Guns don't kill people.people do. People who live around scoobies have complained for years of all the problems they have to deal with it does do any good for the community around it. It needs to go
