i think soon the meat and dairy industry will be so compromised because of global issues, that i feel their days are numbered , i read that 3 dairy farms in the uk are closing each week, and i think this is going to be the year of the vegan

here is some stuff but I will find a link.
Cows on dairy factory farms are forced to produce unnaturally high yields of milk, pushing their bodies to exhaustion. They are repeatedly impregnated only to have their calves torn away from them within a mere day or two of birth. Female calves spend their first few weeks in tiny stalls, and at 15 months of age, they enter the same hellish cycle as their mothers. Male calves, who are deemed surplus waste of the dairy industry, are either shot at birth or sold to the veal industry. Cows have a natural lifespan of about 20 years or more, but most in the dairy industry are killed between the ages of 4 and 7 (and many are often pregnant at the time of slaughter).

Cows in normal-sized dairy herds of approximately 120 already suffer extreme pain, distress and discomfort. The plan to house 1,000 cows on one farm will inevitably guarantee nothing but a rise in the incidence of disease, infection and suffering.

I do not agree that going vegan is the answer.
The employer needs to be more responsible in supervising his employees and getting rid of the ones who mistreat the animals.

these bastards are ending their lives as is, do they really have to let their last moments alive be torture, by tossing them around, and dragging them by their legs, I don't know how these people can go to work everyday, this is what you get paid to do, torture babies? what an amazing line of work, I wonder do they toss their own babies around, drag them by their legs, when they don't do what they want them to do. all these poor little calves want is their mommy. this is why I'm...

I can't look at their faces and go eat a burger, I don't know who can, this is awful. maybe this should be in the commercials, instead of seeing cows frolicking through the fields, singing, whatnot. now go buy some milk and cheese.

there is no need to make them suffer like that & as far a the scum doing the cruel treatment with prodder & throwing them maybe a bit of there own medicine is in order, its no use swearing at them its not there fault they are there just disgusting to see this type of things still goes on. what I want to know is with all this footage as proof was anything done about any of it seen as they were to young for using the prodder on those scum should be fined or better still sacked & jailed then,...

It is not just Australia look also at their close neighbors in the Southern Hemisphere. There are other ways of management including calf rearing for the meat industry but of course this means the calves will eat the very profitable milk producing - high protein grasslands... (The breed of calf has a lot to do with this as well... not all cattle are suitable for efficient meat production but are very efficient milk producers like Jersey and Guernsey's - and they produce the highest milk solids) As of course milk solids are what the farmers are paid on...... Then look at "organic " and the corporate line on that in Australia's neighboring country - that is interesting as well as according to the corporate s there is no demand for organic milk products... Interesting and I believe worth further investigation by those in positions to do so.. Just like the quality of the water courses that have been contaminated by run off from the practices in the Dairy industry in said country that is contested by the indigenous people! - Money is the root of all as they say..... Just look at the cost of a pint of milk in that country as well and see what the corporate s think of the welfare of their fellow country folk:(

We've decided NOT to eat meat any more (we've actually been eating a lot less meat for months now). Every animal should be able to live a long, healthy, happy life in an environment that is best suited to their needs - away from cruel, thoughtless, selfish, greedy humans. God bless ALL animals! xo xo xo xo xo xo.
