It just makes me cry my eyes out to see this beautiful little dog, and know the story behind this unnecessary death of a beloved pet. Report this to the American Humane Society, and the ASPCA, out of New York City. I support both those organizations with monthly contributions taken out of my checking account. They will chase this down and take action for you. Much luck and a whole lot of love to you.

My daughter, who was using Banfield, had one of her cats diagnosed as diabetic. While getting instructions on how much insulin to give, she asked the vet how to measure one half cc (since there were no lines on the syringe). The vet told her to just guess! GUESS? Really? My daughter had left her cat to be diagnosed (as to dosage, etc.) when she returned to pick up Bella, she was told that her glucose had gone to over 400! My daughter (being a nurse) asked why she had not been given insulin...

My daughter (being a nurse) asked why she had not been given insulin (400 can KILL!) and they said they were just observing her! What OBSERVING HER DIE? Needless to say my daughter has a new vet, who has worked hard with Bella and her dosage - and Bella is now doing fine. I cannot fathom the vets and techs at Banfield ~ are they just lazy, uncaring or just plain stupid? or all of the above!! If I lived in Sugarland, Texas - I would be picketing this so called animal care facility - telling people if they wanted to keep their pets alive and well - to go to another vet.

you are so right after spike's death I have learned this has been going on since the 80's when Bandfield was called Companion I don't understand why mainstream media refuses to cover this story and PETA doesn't care either I have tried contacting everyone I can think

I guess what they are is unaccountable. The old professions, medicine and law, are very powerful. They are like states within a state. Therefore everything depends on the personal ethics of the professional - there are I think few real external checks.

Keep telling everybody. Don't get frustrated because you have to let people and organizations and lawmakers know about this.

My cats name is Meow. We took our cat into Banfield in Port Charlotte FL back in November of 2012 and 1st visit they didn't give him pain meds like I asked. They charged me for xrays and other stuff that they didn't do. They shaved him BC he was attacked by a coon and if they would of shaved him a couple inches further they would of found the nail of the coon. So over the next couple days he got sicker and I took him back and he seen Dr. Thomas She admitted that they messed up on the first...

So over the next couple days he got sicker and I took him back and he seen Dr. Thomas She admitted that they messed up on the first visit and didn't give him shots or a xray or pain meds on his first visit. And she said if they would of shaved him further on the first time they would of found the nail and treated him properly and since they didn't they had to do emergency surgery to save his life. I went to pick him up w my fiance and when we got there he had no e collar on and was self mutilating his self and was covered in urine and blood. He was attacking his drains and ripping out his stitches!!! I flipped out. The vet and st

They should be completely closed down, every one of them, I don't care if they are independently owned and operated, they all follow the same guidelines and do not care one bit for any ones animal, All they want is your money. I would bet the BBB would be interested in all the complaints filed against Banfield.

This is the worst place to take a dog to any Banfield Hospital. I don't know where they get there Vets from but friends have told me horror stories with things happening to their pets at Banfields.

The reason why these things happen is that the medical and vet professions are very powerful and animals have no rights. In Europe, where I live, companion animals have less rights than farm animals - who don't have much, to say the least. If your pet is ill it is in immediate danger - from the illness and from an uncaring medical person or institution. They are not accountable because it is hard to prove negligence and courts don't care about animal rights anyway because ...it's just an...

They are not accountable because it is hard to prove negligence and courts don't care about animal rights anyway because ...it's just an animal. Until the rights of non-human sentient beings are genuinely respected and protected under law - which they are most decidedly not - your or my individual pet is NOT protected. It just has to get lucky. I'd check the track record and credentials of your local hospital for animals (or humans) the way I would your garage service. They are probably even less accountable. And they have MUCH more expensive lawyers than you can afford if you want to challenge them.
