The need for change is an understatement. Our children dserve a future.

Goodbye Scott Pierson. This is the father who committed suicide leaving behind two children who will miss him very much. Constant battle with divorce and custody ending up bankrupt. His ex, the very next day after his death, began to search looking for money she could tap into. Scott is actually quite well known in WA State. He was a teacher and a professional musician in an orchestra. His students are devastated as well as the musical community. Rest in Peace, Scott.

All states should automatically assume a 50%/50% custody as the default position in every divorce. This should only ever change if there is clear evidence of neglect or abuse. Additionally, any evidence that one parent is attempting to malign their child/children against the other by direct pressure or subtle manipulation should result in drastic penalties (fines, mandatory community service, and/or parenting lessons) for the parent who is attempting to alienate the child/children from their other parent.

I would have liked to have a Jury trial before I was sentenced for Life.....Lifetime Alimony.

The Los Angeles County Family Court is a DISGRACE! The right hand does NOT know what the left hand is doing. The county workers who govern our court are undertrained and barely speak ENGLISH. To refuse legal aid and advise to a tax paying hard working single mother? While Illegal, crackhead, and welfare collecting people line the halls of our Courthouse are eligible?- is downright incomprehensible to ME! I'm Furious!

I am an alimony payer to the mother of my children to who has not participated in my children's lives since the divorce. She is perfectly capable to work (and is for her live in boyfriend).
They will not marry she would lose the alimony. So my children have lost the benefit of having the money I pay her to which I would have given them. And she has never given them any benefit of the monies I pay her.

I am one of the more than 20 yr. marriage and don't I ever expect to have my Alimony modified. But I will be damned if I will not fight for my Daughter and my Son going forward.

Both of my children (20 and 27) no longer communicate with my ex-wife...They see the injustice of Permanent Alimony and the fact that their mother has chosen to not make a life change that will allow it to end......I never have nor will I encourage them to not be in her life. But they have made the choice not to be in hers.

I don't care what court system it is, or what part of the court we're talking about. It's absolutely corrupt, evil and sick. Jails and prisons are a huge money making entity. They make new laws every day to generate revenue. It doesn't matter who they ruin, or who's family they destroy. What matters the most to those sick evil scum money whores, is the all mighty dollar they steal from us. They're making new ways to make sure they get as much money from our society that they can possibly...

They're making new ways to make sure they get as much money from our society that they can possibly take. They even try and force homeless, penny less people to pay fines they have no way of paying. those retarded judges try and set up payment plans, when these people they charge with b.s infractions, live under a bridge and have absolutely nothing. The court system needs to be completely obliterated and re-built new.

So called "family law court" is one of the dirtiest and sleaziest bureaucratic swindles on the face of the earth---like nearly all self-bloating self-servants at public expense, family law court "judges" consider themselves "administrative" and therefore somehow magically immune from answerability to the letter and spirit of the Constitution unless their transgression or violation thereof is so major and enormous it simply can't be overlooked and entire mobs of people are calling for their...

~ A WORD ABOUT SELF REPRESENTATION ~.
The Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution has been interpreted to provide EVERY AMERICAN with the CONSTITUTIONAL right to self-representation, if they so choose. That privilege, like all other constitutional rights, should be enjoyed without fear of harassment, prejudice, or abuse. Furthermore, no law, regulation, or policy should exist to abridge or surreptitiously extinguish that right.

Self-Represented Litigants have no less of a right to FAIR and MEANINGFUL due process under the federal and state constitutions as those individuals who choose to utilize an attorney for their legal affairs and issues. In fact, NOWHERE in any state or federal constitution does it specify that the hiring of a lawyer is a prerequisite to exercising one's due process rights. Democratic principles dictate that we have the right to freely choose between self-representation and hiring a lawyer to handle our legal matters without suffering humiliation, prejudice, or penalization. After all, it is the parties to the litigation that ultimately have to deal with the consequences of the case's outcome, and not the judge or the lawyers involved in the matter.

Contrary to the view of certain judges and lawyers, those who opt to litigate their own legal matters without an attorney are NOT second-class citizens deserving of contempt and injustice. Instead, they are BRAVE CITIZENS with an inalienable right to have their legal causes adjudicated objectively and justly -- with or without a lawyer. Self-representation can be a difficult, time-consuming, and often frightening experience, especially for those burdened by demanding work schedules, family responsibilities, and other obligations of day-to-day living. Accordingly, those who engage in the difficult task of self-litigation should be REVERED for their COURAGE and DEDICATION, not scorned or abused.

We also need to amass momentous opposition against those persons, agencies, and institutions who, in the interest of protecting huge profits, careers, and prestige, subject self-litigants to a hostile and often abusive litigation atmosphere calculated to suppress self-representation and force people to become completely and financially dependent on lawyers to gain "paid" access to a taxpayer-funded legal system.
