Simply put...there is no such thing as "equal" under the law. Every group demands their own laws...so they receive "special" status when this is done. In order to achieve equality...EVERY crime must be equally as hateful regardless of who...what...or how the victim is labeling themselves. Equal protection also means that if Christian...Catholic...Jewish...etc...prayers are forbidden in school then so shall Muslim prayers. So we are going to see undermining of our Constitution more and more...as we now see in the direct attack by healthcare and this government....

Sal Afonso, I do understand why you became an Atheist if a Catholic School was the way you were educated. Most Catholics I know have reverted to a Bible Base Teaching of living as the Bible teaches. Most Catholics are not encouraged to read the Bible, but let the "Father" of the church do this for them... so until you completely understand the Bible from aspect of reading it and learning how to live life from the "Bible;" don't be so hurried in your decision to become a critic of...

Islam is a religion there is a Holy Book, when it comes to any religion there will be no right or wrong answer, all religions are meant to be if there was to be just one guess what there would be but there isn't and no one would meet eye to eye because of their believes in their GOD.... September 11, 2001 a very sad day for ALL.... for anyone religion or type of people. What you all are doing is letting your own God's down by these ignorant comments I am reading and I am not trying to get into anything with you all but it's just unfair GOD in general is taken out of many areas in our lives.... I believe everyone should have some believes no matter their GOD.... I mean am fine with it if no religion is allowed in schools then muslim prayers shouldn't be neighter... but ever thought that our God no matter what you call your God would be disappointed in all because we are all from the creator the one God we believe in... that's it. Everyone have a blessed day and keep positive energy and love everyone.... because every religion, race and kind does wrong in this world don't mean we will show anger and ignorance towards the race, culture religion... I think we'd be just a bit closer to some sort of world peace.... do on to others as one likes.

It’s not that students of any faith can’t pray in school, no matter what the general public thinks. They can. And Muslim students do, in empty classrooms, under stairwells, and library corners. They just can’t do it with the support of the school, because that’s a violation of the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause.

What this means is that the school administration cannot lead prayers or mandate that students attend prayer.

The Christian religion has more than it's share of violence, and deceit in it's history. Go read up on the crusades or how it was imposed on the Pueblo Indians for example. Religions that claim an all powerful deity necessarily require self righteous arrogance and self imposed ignorance to maintain the assumption that theirs is the one true religion. There is no god, there is no allah, we made it all up as we evolved to explain the mysterious goings on in the environment and our lives. We might have grown out of it long ago like we did santa had the rich and powerful not seized it and perpetuated it as a method of controlling the masses.

The 'right to pray' - silently and without interrupting others - should be a basic right that all young students in schools throughout America of all religions should be allowed. Our ignorant Supreme Court, and the ignorant Liberals that run our nation, have deemed that the founding fathers of America were wrong with the 1st Amendment which guarantees freedom of religion (it doesn't say, "EXCEPT in schools!"). It is of sad note that many who attack Islam have been deceived by paid Islamaphobes and their free-lance Islamaphobic dupes. It is my belief that it is OUR responsibility to combat fire (lies & half-truths) with water (truth). I find it counter-productive to attack someone else's religion on the basis of them attacking mine.I only attack the lies and those that deceived them into believing said lies.
